The Amazing Spider-Man - Talkback

I also felt that Uncle Ben's death scene was handled in a very lazy manner. The extra time they spent developing the relationship between Peter and Ben was all but neutralized by the fact that they devoted approximately fifteen seconds to Uncle Ben's intervention in the robbery and his actual murder.

I bought the Blu-Ray yesterday and it's a great purchase. Comes with a DVD copy and I still dont understand why people buy DVDs still. If customers spend a few more dollars, they get both versions. Weird thinking. But yeah, I liked the deleted scenes because they added more depth to Dr. Connors. I did liked the scene where he was waiting outside Peter's house after the death of Uncle Ben. Also the added scene of Lizard killing or eating the Indian guy solves the mystery of what happened to him in the film. Lol...

Because some people, like me, either don't want to support BD or they can't afford it. You can get cheap dvds at pawn shops and other stores. There are also people that know new formats are always getting developed and would rather not buy a full set of one format, when a new format might be coming soon.

You would have hated the original cut.

Ben sees the robber going down an alley, thinks it's Peter, goes after him, cut to Peter drinking the chocolate milk, the gunshot goes off, Peter walks on, and comes across Ben's body.

And remember how the Indian Oscorp guy just disappears from the movie after Lizard attacks him on the bridge? Well, there was a subplot with him that got cut out that ended with Lizard biting his head off. Which was done from his POV.

They actually cut a lot of Connors stuff.

I got the set at Walmart, and the one I got came with a Spider-Man mask DVD case and a bonus disk about The Lizard.

Blu-Ray players are getting cheaper now and a lot of studios are making the transition much easier than ever. Would I rather buy a DVD for $16.99? Or would I get the Blu-Ray version at $19.99 on sale and it comes with the same DVD as well? I go with the Blu-Ray version. It's a no brainer. But of course, not everyone feels that way.

Contrary to what people think, not everyone has an HD tv. What's the point of having BD with an SD tv.

Some people I've heard and seen just can't afford a blu-ray player.

Some new release blu rays go on sale for a few days but after that they go for $29.99

"Thor" on blu ray is stil 29.99 at target

Compared to a 16.99 DVD

Also 29.99 is a lot for some families nowadays. That can buy them 14 milks or a ton of groceries

I picked up The Amazing Spider-Man exclusive steelbook. Normally, I don't care for 3D but I actually hate that fact that they didn't include it in the steelbook set like The Avengers did. I actually enjoyed The Amazing Spider-Man in 3D a lot when I saw it in theaters. I felt it was real 3D and not just added depth here and there as some lame excuse for 3D admission price.

But in the end, steelbook packaging is more important to me so I rather have that. Haven't got around to getting a 3D TV anyway as I don't feel it's worth it at the moment and I hate having to wear glasses to watch a movie.

There are cheaper ones out there now, but yeah, they aren't worth much yet until they actually are actually worth the costs.
