The Amazing Spider-Man - Talkback

Ok, I just got out & I have to say **** YEAH! Massive improvement on the Raimi films, much more natural dialogue, great acting &... just awesome!

I loved how this movie was pulled off & I want to see more. They blew my expectations out of the water with this one.

Raimi's problem: no range in writing ability. Everything he does tries to be way to damn consistent to the point where it occasionally gets boring. Not to say I didn't like his films, or anything else he's done that I've seen, but this was way better.

One thing they failed to improve on: Soundtrack. The originals' theme was way better. Not bad though. :buttrock:

Just watched it last night and Im loving it.

Though I don't get 1 scene. Why does Spiderman need the cranes to help him swing to Oscorp? The buildings are pretty high around him.

he got shot in the leg and the wound was slowing him down, hence the cranes were needed to get to Oscorp fast. the guy who ordered the cranes to be placed in position happened to be the father of the kid he saved at the bridge. speaking of which, whatever happened to that dude who was always threatening Connors after that? normally, this sorta guy would end up as the asshole victim.

He ended up getting munched after The Lizard turned his Lexus into a convertible, remember?

wow, I seriously don't remember that. I thought Spiderman managed to get him out of the car in time before anything worst happened. Stan Lee's peek-a-boo cameo this time REALLY got my attention. it was funny seeing Lizard and Spiderman pummeling each other in the background with a really inappropriate BGM.

Just saw it. I feel that this movie really delivered.

And I know I might be alone in this, but there are these 2 scenes that really got me. SPOILERS:

[HIDE]
  • Flash coming up to Peter and getting himself slammed on the lockers. I dont know why but I love that he actually just wanted to console the mourning Peter. I applaud this movie for making Flash, this asshole bully, actually be a human being after all and not just your stereotypical (almost Stephen King written) irredeemable bully that you just cant wait to see get beat up. I really really dug that short scene.

  • And the scene where Gwen Stacy turns back, from what I was worried would be painfully cliched Kiva-quality romantic drama emo-ness bullshit, and tells Peter, "He made you promise, didnt he?" I wanted to stand up and shout PHOQUE YEAH! She's so likeable and downright loveable as a person. Smart and brave to boot. The knee-highs during the intern orientation was pure heaven btw.

If I had to nitpick, and I understand why it happend, but still...

PROPERTY OF PETER PARKER

PHOQUE-ing REALLY?!!![/HIDE]
