Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles - Discussion Thread

T3 aside, I thought the last ep of SCC was on the weak side. Entirely too much exposition, not nearly enough *story*. Just about the only interesting thing in the entire episode was the bit at the end [HIDE]with Cameron hiding the other Terminator's chip. Other than that, yes, painfully obvious that Reese 2 (Electric Boogaloo) is a sleeper agent for Skynet or something, but... meh. It just fell flat for me.[/HIDE]

Also, if you're trying to keep a low profile, taking down a federal prison transport is probably not the best way to go about doing that.

Has anyone been able to determine why, in defiance of everything rule of time travel that got hammered into us by three movies, the T-888 skull managed to get through with Sarah, John, and Cameron?

Okay, don't everyone stone me at once, but I was dissapointed.

The story and even the actors show promise, but they just don't deliver.
Both of the females are cute and Mom is very right for the part. River is likewise just an adorable little robot, who can't act her way out of a wet paper sack, but that's okay because she is just so darn cute.

Now, not really enough interest. First, after hiding out in South America for so many years, why the heck did she bring John back and put him in high school - seems an accident waiting to happen to me - oh yeah plot device (but not a good one) give me reasons for him to be in high school. Like maybe he needs to be under a particular teacher. Hello people we have home schooled teens nowdays and it would be really simple to work that in, and a heck of a lot safer for John boy.

We all know cute robot is the love interest there - but from the actors, it almost seems like there is more between John and Mom (which is a little gross and very disturbing).

Also, I watched 4-5 of the episodes, and the basic hooks should be changing about now. Okay, we get that Mom hates girlie robot, now quit snarling at her. Mom has also gone all soft on us - what is this having sympathy and luvs for the guys she sleeps with? Plus, the angsty teen wore thin after the first episode. John needs to reach down and get a grip or grow a pair. We can see the angst and hating Mom for destroying his life in many much more subtle and interesting ways. Plus, does anyone really believe he is (what is he supposed to be?) 15,16,17? The dude looks 25 okay?

Although the cop is cute - dumb but cute.

I guess I had much higher hopes and I feel let down.

Anyone got a torrent link for all the eps that have aired?.

I haven't even watched this yet and I've been a big Terminator fan since I was a kid.

I watched the first five episodes a couple of Mondays ago and I've been following the show ever since, I'm really loving it. I'll just throw out a couple of thoughts:
  • I'd say Lena Headly is terrible in this show. I don't have a problem with her not looking like Linda Hamilton, but her acting is really bad.
  • Half of the time I'm wondering if Cameron has a vagina. I KNOW I'm not the only one.
  • I'm trying to figure out if this is an alternative to T3, or if it takes place after T3 where some change occurred in the past.
  • I liked how in last week's episode the Terminator that was guarding the prison had rubber skin, since it was a cool reference to something Kyle says in passing in T1 about the old Terminators being easy to spot because they had rubber skin.
  • I don't get how Cromartie's head and body got through the time bubble, since they didn't have a biological skin around them.
  • I love the things we're finding out about SkyNet's operations, like the Terminator whose mission wasn't to kill anyone, just to secure enough coltan to augment SkyNet's army in the future.
  • The ending to T3 is just as easy to hate as it is to like. On one hand, it shows that humanity is destined to make progress, and the creation of a sentient computer by humans is an inevitable thing, which almost makes Judgment Day a triumph of the human spirit in a very ironic way. On the other hand, it does ruin the entire theme of T2, which is that the future is not written in stone and nothing is inevitable.
  • Everyone needs to see the scene where the T-X comes out of the time bubble on Blu-Ray. Seriously.

Don't ask and no one post any torrents for this series as it is protected by the MPAA and against forum rules to post that kind of stuff. If you really want to download and watch the series then do a quick google search and you'll find many sites with the torrent links.
