Tensou Sentai Goseiger - Post-Series Discussion Thread

I'm sorry I didn't suck the tits of Toei and swallow what they spewed out of this series. Goseiger was utter **** plain and simple. Why would I want to suffer through 50 episodes of this crap when the ending is lackluster and bland? Have you ever watched the endings to ZyuRanger, DaiRanger, KakuRanger, CarRanger, TimeRanger, MagiRanger, or GekiRanger? Those are series that do endings right, Goseiger did not. Even a bad series can be redeemed by its ending and become an incredible series (like Lost, the show was meh, but the ending was so incredible it put the show on a how new pedistol and made it one of the best series out there right now).

You guys are just getting all upset because your subconcious is telling you the series sucked major ballzacks, but you are too much of a fanboy to admit it. Either that or you work for TV-Nihon where any series they sub can never be bad. :loltongue:

Ok first off you have no right to say what you thought of the series. You didn't watch the series, you watched a couple random episodes. You have no business even posting ANYTHING other than what you thought of those SPECIFIC episodes, but you can not relate them to the series as a WHOLE.

You are a child. Your last paragraph confirms that. You label others as fanboys. At least some of us know what we are talking about, and don't pretend other wise. Was Goseiger a great series, I don't think so. Did I like it, yeah I liked a lot of it. Was it the best or worst ever, no on both counts.

That bit about Tv-nihon. You.. Wow just sad...:redface2:

Oh I don't know. He's clearly got my number. Anyone who knows me knows that I watch everything Toei puts out and masturbate to it constantly.

And as we all know, Kingranger is TVN's greatest fan.

God yes man. I am jerking off to their subs right now FAP FAP FAP.... :P

Finally did my Goseiger marathon from episode 46 to 50

I gotta say, the fights with Burajira were nothing short of epic, though it felt like they were doing the same thing for those 4 episodes
Thought we could've have seen Burajira Extreme at the end, but no :anime:
I was expecting the final fight to involve sacrificing all the headers to stop the drills from reaching the earth's core, so yeah, that was a bit of a let down.

Conclusion, Goseiger ended decently. The idea of them remaining on the surface but going their own ways was some what inspiring. But it's only a good ending, not great

1- This is where so called "Fans" prove they really aren't loyal fans to this franchise, this finale came to me as more of an improvement than anything else it was very unique, Plus this show was sentai in its simplest and most basic appearance just like the old days and I'd hate to see your reaction to the Denjiman finale or something like that, But odds are you would have said OMFG Awesome! despite Goseiger being pretty much the same thing except for being merchandise driven.

2- A study conducted across the forum proves that the only people who didn't like Goseiger are the ones who got used to seeing over mature **** so when sentai returns to even its basic formula they can't take it, Goseiger felt more like a build up to Goukaiger with the whole 80's feel to it, veteran fighting styles and stuff.

3- Any fan who expects to watch sentai or any other toku and not leave with some form of disappointment has got it all wrong.

Agreed.
My only wish and nitpicking is about the whole "fill the 3 drill holes with black lightning" scene. For a planet-saving Gosei spell I was hoping to see the whole planet being encased with that light for a moment and then seeing the "Gosei Global" card. The holes dissapeared WAY to easy. But that's just me nitpicking.
The ending was satisfying.

I thought you were going to ignore my posts for now on? :eyebrow:

Anyway, look, sorry if what I said sounded off. That is the problem when reading a response, not being able to speak it. I think it is cool that you and others liked Goseiger. I just could not get into it no matter what episode I tried watch, but as always, my rule is to watch the last few episodes no matter what. I just have no patience anymore to watch 50 episodes of something I am not enjoying because I do not have the time for it. I work full time, I am getting my Master's degree in elementary ed, so I have very little time and I would rather watch/play something fun (Assassin's Creed, God of War III, DaiRanger again) over something I am not enjoying (such as Final Fantasy XIII and Goseiger, to name the most recent things).

Look at my Region 2 DVD collection and tell me I am not a fan. I own Zyu, Dai, Kaku, Car, Ginga, GoGoV, Time, Gao, Aba, and unfortunately Magi. Plus, I have the first volume to Oh and the first two to Flash, not to mention the number of movies. Then, for those that I do not own on DVD, I have them on my external harddrive, along with every subbed series Nihon has released.

I completely disagree, as it is rewatching Dai or Kaku, it makes it harder to watch most of the stuff in the last 10 years.

3- Any fan who expects to watch sentai or any other toku and not leave with some form of disappointment has got it all wrong.

That does not make any sense. There have been plenty of series that did not leave any disappointments. Geki, Aba, Dai, Kaku, Car, GoGoV, etc. That is like saying you should expect disappointments from everything.

Inspiring? I found it kind of a let-down. It was unnecessarily sad, and it showed Alata in a bad light: he wouldn't agree to see Nozomu again, he just gave him some patronising spiel about "we'll be with you in spirit, okay?" :redface2: It's like sticking two fingers up at the viewers, since Nozomu is supposed to be the audience substitute (you can argue about how well that worked or didn't work but it was his role in the show)

It wasn't just "in spirit" though. The idea of angels at a children's side even if they can't be seen is pretty traditional, and it was shown that he was actually doing it in the end, when Nozomu finds the angel feather.

Sometimes I wonder if the whole angelic theme puts off people from the series. The only aspect of the theme that seems to generally get positive reactions is the "falen angel" idea with Brazila. Every other attempt Goseiger made at following it seems to be met with mixed reactions. Initially, I was annoyed by how mixed the execution of the angel theme felt, with the cards and animals thrown in, but, now, I wonder if a pure angel theme would be just too hard to do...
