Tensou Sentai Goseiger - Post-Series Discussion Thread

Timeranger is the one that surprised me the most, for a supposed fan favorite, it blew in sales. ...but it didn't exactly put emphasis on cool toys.

As I understand, Timeranger has a pretty complicated story, right? That would at least follow with the "simple stories = toy sales" strategy outlined by the Toei rep after Ohranger. Still, Timeranger's toy sales are so low as to be kind of ridiculous. :sly:

I'm not sure where it was, but I think I read somewhere that Timeranger was rather notorious for getting good ratings but slipping in toy sales by 60% from the previous year.

I've heard this ever since Timeranger originally aired. Its bad toy sales are apparently why Gaoranger was a show completely designed around the toys rather than a high concept. Timeranger was, IIRC, an attempt to duplicate Gingaman's high ratings, high toy sales success by letting Kobyashi do another plot-heavy series.

Personally, the big take-away I have from this chart is that Super Sentai rarely does "real machines" robots instead of "power animals" robots is because the power animals seasons typically sell toys a squadillion times better. The last "real machines" robots to sell even basically well were... well, Ohranger's, and Ohranger is really from another era.

That was the ending? -_- Seriously?! I do no tknow about you guys, but that was the lamest Sentai ending since DekaRanger's finale. In fact, that was the lamest Toku ending ever. There was not even a final battle, it was just talk talk talk flashy effects talk battle over. What the hell is up with that? I feel sorry for those of you that actually watched the entire series, as I would have been pissed to have gone through all that and got THAT as my ending. Where was the battle? Where was the excitement? The suspense? The threat? Bladerunner or whatever the hell he was did nothing but stand there, do his best Sephiorth impression, and then destoy himself when he could not win. That was not a battle, that was just poor writting. They could have really turned this show around with this final battle to the point that I would have been interested in watching the entire show, but instead, they just do nothing.

Well I finally watched the last episode, and I liked it!
.....And I may have put my hands in the air for joy when Alata landed on top of the building like when we first saw him >.>

Anyways overall Goseiger, I liked it. It didnt have the best beginning (save for a few episodes here and there), but the last arc, action, and characters sure did make up for it
And Alata and Hyde have become one of my favorite Red's and Blue's.

Ah.. You elitists... You never cease to crack me up. Saying you didn't like it is one thing, but to say you feel sorry for people for liking it, that's just pathetic. I don't even think you watched the final episode. At best you skimmed it. You made to many errors on what really happened.

Don't be stupid, Kingranger. It saves a lot of time when you just read the last two pages of a book, and you basically get the gist of it! So who the hell was that Agnes person in Oliver Twist, anyway? Who cares about her! It's like the book wasn't even about Oliver at all! GOD, what bad writing!
