Tensou Sentai Goseiger - Post-Series Discussion Thread

Ah.. You elitists... You never cease to crack me up. Saying you didn't like it is one thing, but to say you feel sorry for people for liking it, that's just pathetic. I don't even think you watched the final episode. At best you skimmed it. You made to many errors on what really happened.

And you never cease being a dick. I stopped harping on you and you just had to continue it here. I do not need to prove to you that I watched 48-50, but I did. Episode 48 showed promise even though it was weird that Goseiknight was a villian, but then 49 and 50 sucked. I liked it when the previous villians were trying to haunt Bladerunner, but it went nowhere. Nothing came out of it. And then during the battle, Bladerunner just stood there half the time doing his wing thing, teasing the rangers, who just fought back using their weapons. I wanted to see choreography, as that is what a Sentai fight is supposed to entail, especially the final fight. The mech battle was nothing as well as when Bladerunner grew big, the mechs pretty much stood there and rammed into him than actually fight him. Again, how about some choreography? Instead, they defeat Bladerunner in the first 9 minutes of the show and then just use their wings to stand around in the sky to get rid of the drills from burrowing, spouting their love for the world nonsense while Nozomu tries to save his apple tree garden. Even DekaRanger had choreography in its finale.

This is something that is called "characterization." I understand if you are unfamiliar with it happening toward the end of a series, as you apparently tuned in wanting to see nothing but explosions and stunts.

All of the extant Goseiger subs I've seen don't really do Brajil's dialog-- he stopped being Bladerun episodes ago-- justice, but the point of this scene is to show that he is totally unrepentant about what he's done. When he begins to feel guilt at all, his ego immediately dismisses it. He feels everything he did was totally justified.

This directly informs his behavior in the rest of the arc-- behavior you honestly don't seem to comprehend. Perhaps your inability to understand this scene is why? Honestly, did you think the past villains were really haunting him? It is rather obvious from the dialog that this is not what's happening.

It was just a visualization of what was going on in Brajil's head, showing how he regarded his former allies and foreshadowing how he will attempt to use the Gosei Angels throughout the last three episodes.

As for your other complaints-- these are all things you'd understand if you had watched the rest of the show or the even clip show that is designed to explain the general shape of the plot to people like you who tuned in late. You chose not to do so and then attempted to critique the ending with no context. It is purely your own fault that your critique is ill-informed and risible.

Yeah it was SO WEIRD that he was a Villain. I mean it's not like the previous episodes didn't EXPLAIN it all. But hey wait, you skip episodes and then bitch about things instead of WATCHING the show and understanding what is going on.

You see ep 49 had the first part of the fight, and ep50 continued it. The rest of the episode was about them stopping his final plan, and saying there good byes. You know for a person that claims to be an avid sentai watcher, you sure don't know the way a sentai flows.

Yeah how dare they want to save the world. I mean it's not like they have grown to love it. Hell man, they should just have let the world die right?

OK. I watched the last episode first. It is my first thing I have ever seen of this show.

I am not a person who likes Sentai in general, for varying reasons.


...but I have to say. The villain? He was cool.

I can't say I know a LOT about him, but I understand almost everything about his character.

He's a villain that cannot be redeemed-maybe once, a million years ago, but not anymore.

It's not that he doesn't understand the heroes, its not that he doesn't understand what he's doing is wrong-it's that he doesn't CARE. He believes what he is doing is right and that is ALL that matters...and if the heroes some how foil his plans, then he'll just push on and make them suffer for it, even if it means destroying EVERYTHING.

Dude was great.

Their fight against him was cool. I wish that it could have been a bit more brutal, like their suits get wrecked up or something (an aspect of Power Ranger final battles I enjoyed from back in the day, suit damage) but I don't have a lot of complaints about the fight. What little I know made it make sense. If I have any comment, its the fact that the Red guy's finishing move was basically Space Sheriff Gavan's, only without Gavan in the title. Not that that's a bad thing, but I found it slightly amusing.

I...can't say I understand WHY believing in themselves caused a freaking miracle to occur that fixed everything and healed everything everywhere....

And I can't say I actually ENJOYED that conclusion if only because it seems very Deus Ex Machina to me...

But I can't deride it too much because, as said, I have never seen an episode before this one. I barely know ANYTHING about this series, actually.

I know that they're angels and that they fought different villains to start with...and that the show was harped on for dragging its feet? I dunno.


However I can say....honestly? I liked it.

I didn't catch any character specifics, and there were some things in it that annoyed me, but it was pretty well done all told and the final fight, to me, had a bit of an old school vibe to it.

I thought it was a pretty good ending. Not the best ending ever, but it fit the show absolutely perfectly. The last episode particularly interested me because it was so dialog heavy (pretty good dialog, too). Lots of big bombastic heroic/villainous speeches against a backdrop of crazy CGI.

I'm sorry I didn't suck the tits of Toei and swallow what they spewed out of this series. Goseiger was utter **** plain and simple. Why would I want to suffer through 50 episodes of this crap when the ending is lackluster and bland? Have you ever watched the endings to ZyuRanger, DaiRanger, KakuRanger, CarRanger, TimeRanger, MagiRanger, or GekiRanger? Those are series that do endings right, Goseiger did not. Even a bad series can be redeemed by its ending and become an incredible series (like Lost, the show was meh, but the ending was so incredible it put the show on a how new pedistol and made it one of the best series out there right now).

You guys are just getting all upset because your subconcious is telling you the series sucked major ballzacks, but you are too much of a fanboy to admit it. Either that or you work for TV-Nihon where any series they sub can never be bad. :loltongue:
