Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, literally Heaven-Piecing Gurren Lagann, is a 27-episode mecha anime series, which is divided into two major arcs and four mini-arcs. It is animated by GAINAX and co-produced by Konami and Aniplex. It is sci-fi, comedy, mecha, adventure, drama, and action all in one series.

I have finished this almost a week ago.
Anyone here also finished the series?

BTW, I have also written a review here.

I feel ashamed I never started this thread :C

If you couldn't tell I'm a huuuuuge fan of the anime, I know it sounds odd but the themes presented in Gurren Lagann were inspiring to me at a bad time Xd

I've currently watched all the gurren lagann stuff out there, series, films, music videos. If you haven't watched the movies dude, I highly recommend them, they take the series and without making the series seem pale in comparison as most remakes do but they dish out their own brand of epic. I would say what changed but I believe its for the best if you watch it to find out yourself.

I just downloaded some of the episodes subbed. Now I just watched Code Geass R1 and R2, so Gurren Lagan have a lot live up too. So my question to you all, how does it match to Code Geass.

@Shadow_Scythe
Well, I could see you are a fan. Just looking at your sig. :P
I'm currently downloading the Lagann-hen movie. I's a whoping 1.7GB file...

@Matrix
Well, I watched all of CG and it's currently the best anime in my list. And Gurren Lagann is #2. What I like best on TTGL is the plot, mech battles and the twists made.

You will definitely feel something similar to CG on the 2nd half of the series.

just finished watching the series in one day were started morning to night in anime marathon. Viral is one of my faves because, he's a bit like Rio in Gekiranger.

Oh you nanami, have just become even more epic than you already are XD

I really need to have a gurren lagann marathon one of these days...

They're both rehashes of the series D: But the endings of both differ vastly from the actual anime, sure events go in a similar fashion but things like the final battles of each arc have changed dramatically.

Its best if you watch both movies in the order of gurren-hen and lagann-hen as they were supposed to be C:

Thanks. I'll get Gurren-hen once I finish downloading Lagann-hen.
