Takara > Toei

Lustful Butchery

Throwing Some Justice!
I have to say, Takara really puts Toei in its place, when it comes to Toku that needs to be done right (CGI, story, unforgettable heroes, intense action, etc). Madan Senki Ryukendo was one awesome series that had a good formula for story (The Ryujinou arc remains the best), good humor, fight scenes, suit designs, etc.

Rescue Force is turning out great aswell. So does anyone agrees and would love to see more Toku from Takara?

Long story short for me: Toei > Takara. I give credit for Ryukendo because that show was both brilliant and a breath of fresh air from Sentai and Kamen Rider. However, Rescue Force killed it for me. After episode 10, I had to stop watching. I didn't like it at all. And also, Toei has been the most consistent and good(exception go-onger) for awhile plus they have a lot of the best shows in Toku history in their archives.

Yes, with their two derivative shows, Takara certainly wipes the floor with Toei's 35+ year history of tokusatsu. :rolleyes2:

I have to thank Mike "Kimiden" Dent for waking me up to this series! At first, I was a bit turned off by the orange+other colors, which at first looked rather garish (but then, they look more like something you find at Home Depot or Lowe's). But when I saw their giant robot in the new OP, I was absolutely blown away.

Tomika Hero Rescue Force is EXACTLY what I had been wishing for Super Sentai to be like for a decade! This is as realistic as it can get, and even I'm surprised! Takara really put a lot of thought into this show. Plus, the effects I saw are incredible! I couldn't tell if the combined robot was CGI or suitmation!

And I must agree, this will definitely kill Toei's newer shows, and rightfully so. Personally, I never cared for Toei's new shows, because they are really underestimating their audience, and using the same tired formulas to death. Super Sentai stagnated since the end of the 90s (partly for selling out to Power Rangers), and Masked Riders are not Masked Riders anymore, just glorified, bug-eyed Metal Heroes for fangirls who have no life. And the shows are overdoing it to the point of running out of ideas. Things are looking pretty bleak for Toei.

Tsuburaya's diversifying into the kaijuu genre goes without saying, and it looks like we have another winner in Tomika Hero Rescue Force.

/Raises hand.

ryukendo was a blast the first time i saw it and i've been watching rescue force as it airs since day1. love love love it.

The problem is that they feel they ran out of ideas and decided that escalation of the weapons will let the fans overlook plot.

As I said in the Sentai rumors thread; slave the toys to the show, not teh show to the toys. Toei forgot that and it shows in their programs. Gekiranger WAS good, I'll give it that, but even there you could see how they were forced to write around Gekifire and kageki

In this generation things are alot different, new upgrades and mecha are needed. Personally I think if the story is good then why the hell not. Getting new stuff in a series is also a fun thing but I do agree that Bandai likes to overdue it a few times but hey. Whatever.

Shougo, I think we'll both agree that Sentai can do whatever the **** it wants and we'll all come back for more. It's just the way it works. We are all hooked since day 1.
