Super Smash Bros Brawl - Discussion

Yeah, it's the random character selection button.

An update:

[HIDE]The Subspace Emissary mode just gets better and better. One stage is like Donkey Kong Country all over again!

Got Luigi, and if you miss Mario's old Down + Special move, Luigi still has it (Mario now has it as a Down + Regular Attack, and the water cannon thing they gave him is going to take some getting used to.)

Still waiting to get Snake & Sonic...[/HIDE]

damn. Well I've been reading about the characters on IGN. A lot of them ARE clones. Like it or not. IGN confirms that a lot of em just have copy/paste moves with little variety. I'm very disappointed in the StarFox characters. They are direct copies of each other, including the Final Smash attacks. That's pathetic.

Enough on that though.

Yay for soundtrack!

IGN is WRONG, like usual, don't trust them.

Wolf isn't even similar to Fox other than that they both have the same Final Smash. All of his A moves are completely different. He kinda shares the same B moves, but they're drastically different in effect and whatnot. Wolf isn't even a Luigified clone.

Ganondorf has basically been changed pretty much. He shares most of his Melee Falcon cloned moveset, but his B moves have pretty much completely new physics. It's kinda like with Wolf, who shares similar B moves to Fox yet they're completely different (which wasn't the case with Ganondorf and Falcon in Melee). He has quite a few new A moves too.

The closest ones we get to clones is Toon Link and Falco. But Toon Link plays completely different from Link in terms of physics despite having most of the same moves, and some of his A moves are different. Falco plays almost the same from Melee with quite some tweaks and new A moves. But that's it.

In a GIST, there's no true clones in Brawl like there was with Melee. Saying, like, Ganondorf is a clone of Captain Falcon (Brawl versions) is like saying Ken is a clone of Ryu.

But yeah, the soundtrack is amazing.

Can't wait for it now :D just having a lot of trouble deciding who to play as. a lot of the characters look really cool and fun to use. Groundwalker: you forgot Ness/ Lucas XD Although they're in a similar vain to Fox and Falco too in that they have the same moves that just work differently, and maybe some different A attacks.

can't decide between Pit and Lucario mainly, wouldn't mind alternating between the two as my mains, but there's also a strong urge to play as Wolf (but lolfurfag etc.), Kirby, Snake and/ or Sonic... But Snake's playstyle doesn't look very appealing other than the grenade launcher, Sonic is cool but doesn't seem quite right.
Now, if that photoshop image of Kamen Rider being a new challenger had been true, there'd be no choice xD

Ness and Lucas are really not even close to clones to be honest. They have three similar B moves except each have completely different ways of being used, and Lucas basically has a whole new set of A moves. Hell, Lucas is more unique from Ness than Luigi is from Mario, so I really wouldn't say they're clones at all. Even Lucas' and Ness' Final Smash work differantly.

Okay, [HIDE]Snake is tons of fun. His Final Smash is incredibly crazy. He took a bit of getting used to but once you get a hang on him, he's great. His smash attacks seem really powerful, and work differently enough from most other characters to make him a real standout. I also actually hurt someone with his taunt, which was amusing. Sonic isn't too bad either. Dedede is still the surprise star for me, I love playing as him. He's big and tough but quick too, and he can take a beating. And I think all his moves are real winners. And it's nice to see Falco's even better than last time, his Down+B is a nice change![/HIDE]
