Street Fighter IV - 2D, 3D.... or 2.5D?

Apparently the trailer isn't just a pretty picture...

If they pulled this off, it could truely revolutionize fighting games.

If you look at the video a Capcom rep is pretty tight lipped on if the game will be 2D or 3D, but says to look at the trailer and you'll get a good idea of what direction they want to go into.

Hey now, the first EX was decent.

I predict that they're gonna do 2D sprites with 3D backgrounds, a la Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.

Ex was nice. But Ex failed and it happened long ago. EX doesnt prove that Capcom wouldnt try in again in light of SNK's successful attempt. It definitely wont be 2D sprites anymore. If the trailer shows us anything, we know that Ryu and Ken are 3D. Wether it's 3d with a 2d perspective or full 3D like Maximum Impact, it's the debate. I'm still betting on full 3D because that's where Fighting games have been heading. Soul Calibur, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, now King of Fighters. Capcom's Street Fighter used to define fighting games. It was the epitome of the fighting game genre. I would be surprised if Capcom didnt attempt 3D again

EX is not proof that Capcom would never try a concept again.
