STARDUST the Best Film of 2007?

Lotta well done themes I like... father/son dynamics, young man learning about real love, a simple plot with complex elements that seem fully realised down to the magic which has its own believable and well executed rules, a training sequence (because I've some strange fetish in movies for training sequences), well choreographed fight set pieces, friendship themes, and special effects that seem a natural and organic fit to the story told without just trying to over shadow and wow you.

You can't help but compare it to the Princess Bride, and it's hard not to say the Princess Bride is better simply because it's the Princess Bride.... but for the next generation, this is their well deserved Princess Bride.

I agree that this move was fantastic. It was just about everything that I look for in a film...although really, it owes its elevation from "awesome" to "fantastic" solely to DeNiro. :)

Usually when I read phrases like "Critics Darling" I automatically consider the movie unwatchable until hits basic cable.

I watched Transformers, I don't it, I don't any of the toys/merchandise from it but I paid to see it one time.

I just have to go by the box office which I think is the fairest and most legitmate way to determine how good a movie is. And despite all the flaws of the TF movie, it's grossed more then a half a billion dollars. So yeah, I'd say it's the best movie of 2007.

Yeah, I'll be purchasing Stardust at some point in time. That movie was fan-fucking-tastic and I haven't seen its match in 2007.

And I thoroughly enjoyed Transformers even tho a **** ton of folk hated on it.

But yeah... overal production, story, action, and fun quality... Stardust stands above the rest.

To me, it's up there. I wouldn't go as far saying it's the best of 2007. Knocked Up and Live Free or Die Hard are some good competitors, especially the unrated Die Hard

**** you fucking fuckers. It's all about movies like The Lookout, Hot Fuzz, Saw IV, The Number 23, Halloween, The Bourne Ultimatum, and Sweeney Todd. Stardust is for 12 year old girls, and Keith.

Faiz and I just watched Stardust. I really liked it, and Faiz said it was a good movie. He burst out laughing WAY more than I did, so I'm thinking maybe he liked it more than he was letting on.

I'd definately like to see it again, and maybe I'll pick it up on dvd when I have some spare change.
