A good amount of people have seen the film and seem to love of what they were seeing.

What do you think? Do you find hope this film can be good after all or are you gonna hold judgment untill you see the film yourself?

I'm feeling pretty good about it at least for right now. My feelings are based mainly on the trailer and reading an interview with Abrams. I came away from both feeling like he's got the right idea about things. ..and as much as I enjoy the combination of exploration, character interaction and political stuff in Star Trek I also don't mind that they are amping up the action. So long as that isn't at the expense of the other things I mentioned nor at the expense of Star Trek's inherent optimism which is something the franchise has lost over the years.

But then again I've gotten that positive impression before only to find out very differently with the finished product.

Well it can't be helped, written by the same guys, same style, similar scene structure, similar plot development, imilar pacing, serves the same purpose to their respective franchise, you get the idea. Not comparing them is like not comparing Pokemon Blue to Pokemon Silver.

Anyway I thought Nimoy at the premier was pretty cool, it was pretty much "Hey guys! Look I got Star Trek!"

this movie is gonna rock i think....hardcore trekkies that have issues with it can go watch hannah montana or sumthing...

and yes Leonard Nimoy should do the voice for THE FALLEN in TF2 flick....

I am a hardcore Trekkie, and I cant wait for this. The only 'issue' I have is that I have to wait another month to see it. But when I do, it will be in IMAX.
