Spider-Man 4 in 3D?

Unlike some people I'm not gonna say Raimi sucks because of SM3. I find people who claim that full of it. He made SM1 and SM2, and among that many other great films and all of a sudden he sucks?

Chris Nolan might be next. He made two great Batman films, but if he makes a mediocre third film then fickle fans are gonna be whining and crying change.
Couldn't agree more. Raimi deserves another shot to make Spidey 4....the way HE wants to make it. Without any forced ideas, he should be able to pull off something equally as good as 1 and 2, but hopefully better.

It promotes stupidity and laziness. "Well let's just turn this out, if it doesn't work out, hit the reset button and try it again next year."

Sounds more like "keep fixing 'till it aint broke, try new things", it promotes motivation and inspiration for established products for not only designers, actors, writers etc, but generates money for companies that will profit from promoting it, suceed or fail, based on name value.

Batman had 8 years to take a breather before coming back in a 'rebooted' series.

NOTHING in Hollywood takes a "breather", the Batman movie franchise was in production hell the entire time, from Schumacher's intended follow-up "Batman Triumphant" straight through to the "Intimidation Game" treatment that became "Batman Begins"

I could care less what raimi does. His company along with disney have bastardized one of the greatest series of books ever written, The Sword of truth. Let some one else have a go at spider-man. They sure as hell couldn't do any worse.

So you're arguing Raimi's directing ability by using a completely different franchise and Disney as your point? Let alone a franchise Raimi is producing the adaptation of (ie funding not making).

You know what, I could care less if (hypothetically) Bryan Singer adapted the next Harry Potter book into a sex-crazed, drug induced, rated R picture....if someone asked him to direct X-men 4, I'd sure as hell want him to do it knowing how fantastic X-men and X2 are.

In Raimi's case, he's given us 2 good films out of 3. And I wouldn't even consider 3 his film due to the shoving of Venom down his throat by Arad...if it was his vision of how he originally wanted the film, I'm pretty confident it would have been just as good. He more than deserves a chance at this given his track record.

That's no excuse. He could have made the movie work. He chose not to.

What are you talking about? Any interview with Raimi expresses his emotional investment in these movies. Spider-man 3 might have been a disappointment, but not because Raimi "chose not to make it work."

He was the director. Since this is just going in a circle. Where you guys defend him, and I just repeat I don't care for him at this moment in time, lets just agree to disagree on his directorial skills when it comes to SM3

The director isn't always the person to blame for how an adaptation turns out. The term is authorship when saying who is responsible for how a movie turned out. Was it because of the writer, the director, the producer, the people pushing the director, the first director, the second director, and so on.

And well if a director forced by the producer or the other big wigs to do something he doesn't like, odds are it won't turn out that great. Since there are some people that don't give it their all on something they thought wouldn't work out in the first place.

I just don't think it's fair to Raimi that you're judging his work as a whole based off of one movie.
