There's a certain attitude humans sometimes have: ''A human can't be replaced, but a pet can''. While I may not be ''one of the people'' that KingRanger mentioned, I do feel like slaughtering someone at times.
And let me add something a bit off-topic, while it is a scientific fact that we too are animals, it is our choice whether we want to act like savages or not, we are rational beings that have options to choose from, and if we ''act like animals'', it's only our choice.

@OP I'm sorry to hear that happen and I do feel your pain. I really think that people should check on injured animals if they're involved in hit-and-runs or call some kind of animal service about it. But unfortunately this rarely happens because most people just don't care. Personally I think that if animals had a voice like us none of this stuff would happen.
