Some questions regarding Densha answered

Hey! Why was it when I brought up that angle before you disagreed by saying "The Japanese probably pretend like they don't care [about adult foreigners liking the stuff], but probably really make fun of you behind your back," but now you're agreeing with it? Dude, WTF!?!
Sorry, actually what I meant is that Japanese won't show they care to your face, but might laugh at you behind your back. The difference is they don't care enough for it to have serious social repercussions, as is the case amongst Japanese ... since you're already considered an 'outsider', they can't put you 'outside' their inner circle since you're already outside.

... congratz to those that can still follow my reasoning, even I barely can :redface2:

And yeah, it is true that often when one is connected to toku/anime, you're likely to be branded an otaku whether it's true or not ... I agree that this is a form a generalisation that shouldn't exist, but since it does exist, I prefer to be careful and avoid any problems.

This is the winner of the thread.

A winner is me!

Would you rather do something non(whatever) related with your friends? If not, well you're probably an otaku. I sure know that I enjoy myself alot more when I'm out with my friends going around town doing crazy **** than watching toku or anime.

I hang out with my friends and sometimes we'll do things they like to do, and sometimes we'll do things I like to do. I might not like all the same things they do, but that's fine with me as long as they respect what I enjoy doing.

You know you more or less just described every social group from every country in the world as a whole right?

Actually, he's 562 years old and hails from the deserted ice planet of Volgathor where he was a king and trickster.

Oh ok, that clears everything up. World Conquerers would hate Otaku, it's always the geek who knows how to blow up their doomsday ****. :)

Officially I'm 29 but I see that Bolt has been able to discern my true personality ... time for me to blow this hole and get a new secret identity

I'm sorry to drag this old topic up again, but these otaku-ish quotes are too good not to post. Guys from other boards forwarded me these (I don't know where they came from, so I can't check the validity and I almost would hope it's a hoax).
Regarding the Densha Otoko anime Gonzo will be making:

...but I'm feelin' a little bit "KITAA!!!" right about now.
KITAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Nice Desu!
I love Hermes-san

Gotta wonder how many people have no idea of the connotation that comes with these words, which scream: "I'm an ultra-geek".
Also, love the Japlish "nice desu" amalgam! I'll try that one with my coworkers, it'll be laughs all around in the company!
the "mo~e" quote should win the 'nerd of the century' award! :buttrock:
