So what's wrong with SPD?

Alot of the PR fans hated SPD because they didn't like how it went and also the Omega Ranger issue. There are a few dozen SPD fans out there but those SPD Fans were also upset about the Omega Ranger being just a ball of light.

I love SPD, it was a great season :) The best Disney season made.

I see a lot more than there probably should be.

SPD had a great story but several problems. The Omega ranger debaucle to name one.

I think most fans are just hatin on the Battlizer codpiece. But someone in Japan must have liked it, because its the only battlizer to ever appear in Sentai.

I personally enjoyed the season. Great rangers, great stories. Some funny, some sad. Also great use of morphers and zords. And the NZ A squad was awesome.

Its also the only time that the comic book and tv versions of the show differed...

The only thing I saw wrong was the Omega Ranger issue: being a ball of light.
They should have just let him be normal.

This is the Best Power Ranger show, the 2nd Best was Time Ranger in my opinion.

Here's the deal with SPD: It started on a super high note. The premiere is one of the best PR premieres ever. Idol is one of the best episodes of PR ever. But suddenly, right around Shadow, it petered off. There's a lot of theories as to why, but the show suddenly spiraled away from being a show with a great cast and good stories that just happened to be a kids show, to a kids show that had a great cast trapped inside. Suddenly major plotlines were thrown out right up until the last few episodes, every episode had no connection to any episode around it, and character developments that made no sense just kept cropping up. (The rangers suddenly hate each other in Swat for no good reason.)

After DT, there was hope across the fandom, both from those who loved DT and wanted to see that level of quality continue (me), and those who hated DT and wanted to see something better. SPD achieved it for all of us - and then suddenly fell flat on its face. There's a lot of theories as to why, and most people blame Bruce and hail Greg as some kind of savior, but my personal feelings on it are that Disney started paying attention. Their biggest desire was to have a show that any kid could turn on any day and know what was going on. And SPD achieved that - in the worst way possible.

It started off great but then it fell apart. We got plots that seemed to be forgotten until near the end of the season such as Cruger's wife, The A-squad. The rangers attitudes such as Sky would change in between episodes. One episode he's an ass, the next he's nice, and then after that he's back to being an ass.

And don't even get me started on The Omega Ranger.

I actually had no problem with the Omega Ranger, at least as a concept. The ball-of-light thing was an interesting idea, and the idea of Sam coming back from the future to save the rangers was cool.

It fell apart when he became nothing more than a Battleizer-like tool for the Rangers to use, though.
