anyone know that the main character Ben Campbell, a gifted white guy, in real life his name was Jeff Ma, a gifted Chinese guy

so.... I'm guessing there weren't any asian actors looking for a role in a movie huh?

That's just it, it's based on a true story. Characters and events have been changed... That's usually the tag that most movies or shows based upon real life events have. Either way, if it was a good movie I don't see what much it matters. :/

I do find it weird that like, one of the other leads was an Asian. They could have just flipped the roles.

The plot was influenced by a true event. Not all the events in the movie probably played out in real life.

So, given that, I think they wanted (for Hollywood's sake) to hire a white lead actor. It's all on terms of money. Maybe they couldn't find a good Asian lead actor.

Besides, having an Asian lead role is a bit obscure unless they're well-known. The role for the lead actor in this plot could be anyone of any race.

BTW, has anyone actually seen this movie? I'm curious to see it.
