So I'm seeing Beowulf tonight

I'll try, haha. Maybe the 3D-ness will keep me entertained. But it'll be okay 'cause...GUITAR HERO 3 AFTERWARDS! :buttrock:

Yeah the most entertaining part for me was the fact the person infront of me (from my view) got hit in the face with every 3D object that came out of the screen.

I heard that if you've read the poem then you'll hate the movie, but if you haven't read it, you may like the movie. Either way... I don't plan on watching it.

I've read the poem a dozen times and re-read it right before the film, STILL LOVED it, I mean the film really is the best interpretation of the poem that you could get on screen. Do I like the changes made the Grendals Mother? HEck no....but even I have to admit the changes worked and brought the Dragon into the story rather than it being "And many years later this OTHER adventure happened to Beowulf unrelated to the rest of the story"

That always kinda killed to last 1/3 for me....this brought it all together so the film flowed very nicely.

Eh. It was all right. First movie I'd ever seen in 3d, so that part was pretty cool. Mostly, I liked imagining how things were by reading the poem--as compared to seeing this animation.

However, I will say it made me want to go back and watch the Xena episodes about Beowulf and Grendel

I HAD NO IDEA IT WAS ALL ANIMATED.

haha. I went into this movie with no prior knowledge about it, except that most people said it sucked. So my friends and I were like...cool, 3D, let's watch it. I was definitely surprised that it was animated, lol. Ahh...oh well. I was entertained.

It was...ok. The plot was fairly humdrum, the CG still not really good enough to convey what they wanted (although there were some scenes that blew me away, most of them involving the dragon), and the random Christianity bashing shoved in the script in a way that didn't serve to do anything but, well, bash Christianity was stupid.
