Smallville - Final Season 10

Finished the second episode of season 8. I love the new vibe, this show feels like Superman now. I'm actually not missing Lex as much as I thought I would because his character "finished" at the end of season 7, if they kept him on the show he would get boring, IMO. I'm so glad Lana is gone, I guess the whole on/off relationship with Clark just had me bored with her. Tess seems okay, so far she's just a less interesting version of Lex, I have faith they will do something good with her. I've lost some interest in Chloe, I've honestly never been a huge fan of hers anyways (I like her, but she doesn't have that spark, she's just a solid sidekick)

But God damn. Erice Durance is killing me so far. How did she manage to get even hotter? She dyed her hair and is wearing those hot office clothes. I love her Lois Lane, she's interesting and very funny, I would even say that Erica Durance is the best Lois Lane. And it's great to see her starting to have feelings for Clark, season 8 is looking great so far

Holy ****, did Chloe just kill that guy who could read peoples thoughts?!?!? ****...season 8 is awesome

I can understand people feeling disconnected, but i'm not worried because Lex is finally evil and knows who Clark is. So he should (logically) want to kill Clark, and that would mean turning him into a Power Rangers or Super Sentai villain, where he is making a new plan each week and fails miserably. It's better they write him off the show and bring him back later, so they can keep the characters evilness.

Yeah, but that's the thing. He does hatch a plan every now and then and he honestly could have been kept from re-entering the show until Rosenbaum returned or until it was agreed that Lex has been away for too long. He looked like he was burned by fire and he was all crippled, but in my opinion, it would make more sense if the orb fell deep below the fortress and Lex left to devise a new great plan.

It was unexpected for me when she walked into the room, but I admit that it is better than that deus ex machina stuff that kept happening in the first few seasons with memory loss or the villains just getting killed by their own plans.

Just finished Requiem...so Lana has left the show. I'm torn. Lana is a very good character, and Kristin Kreuk is incredibly talented, it's just that the writers on Smallville don't know what to do with her, seasons 5 and 7 were great because Lana was with Clark and there was no relationship bullshit. I would have liked to have seen Lana stay on the show and do this thing where Clark is being torn between her and Lois (that would have been awesome).

And what a shitty way to be written off the show. Is this the best they could come up with? Lana absorbing Kryptonite. WTF. I really hope they give us some closure, because I feel there is so much for Lana to do. This episode felt like Lana should get her own spin-off or something

I wish that Lana was gone for good after her relationship with Clark ended. Her story became convoluted.

I kind of agree. I think Lana is a great character, played by a great actress. However, the writers made her relationship with Clark her most important and defining aspect. When written correctly (season 5 and 7) Lana is an awesome character and I feel the show screwed up with her

Just finished season 8. ****, this show is amazing. I didn't know it was going to be this good, Doomsday was a great villain, I loved how they humanized David Bloome (although they might have lost it in the end). Lana was sadly written out of the show, Chloe has a great romance with Davis and her relationship with Jimmy was heartbreaking to watch. Clark has been solid this season, he really feels like Superman, and I still love Lois (did she get transported to the future!?!?!)

And who is responsible for wardrobe? Cassidy Freeman (Tess) is always wearing silk and she look ridiculously hot. I mean, she's hot because she is independent, strong, confident and intelligent. And she has been a great replacement for Michael Rosenbaum this season

I already can tell season 9 is going to be dark. And I am so excited.

I liked that Davis Bloome was Doomsday, but the season finale was wtf. Nothing on the face of the Earth can kill Doomsday, so Clark takes him underground? Is it like some aliens are watching Doomsday from space on the surface of the Earth to revive him and they can't do it if he's not visible? Clark was able to kill Doomsday with less power and escape the very thing that killed a superior being? There was no explanation for it other than "I don't know how I escaped." -_-

Clark finally began to take some real actions in this season, but he distrusts his teammates too much and he trusts the villains too much.

Season 9 is my favorite. Enjoy. :castlerock:

Season 9 was awesome, definitely one of the best seasons. Callum Blue was an incredible Major Zod, he brought a humanity to the character that hasn't really been present before. Clark needs to tell Lois his secret soon or else this will turn into Lana/Clark all over again. Oliver impressed me this season, seeing him go dark was great, and Chloe becoming "Watchtower" was a nice piece of development. And Absolute Justice was incredible, seriously one of the best episodes of the series.

I also finished the first 4 episodes of season 10. Jonathan Kent came back, and it was epic (although they shouldn't have put his name in the opening credits, it ruined the surprise). Kara came back (and she is still ridiculously hot) and I can see a theme of darkness this season. And Homecoming was okay (to be honest I didn't find the story amazing), seeing Clark is season 1 was hilarious (he looked like a skinny mexican kid lol). I would have really, really liked Lana to come back, i'm beginning to miss her and they did a poor job of giving her character a proper conclusion, so I want more. I'm glad they wrote Chloe out of season 10, I don't think her character is that special (I know people love her, but I don't see it)

I can't believe the show is almost done, nooooo!

I thought that Zod was the right villain that Smallville needed after Lex was gone. He really made Clark step up his game and he was a dynamic character who brought more life back into the series.

There was a lot of hype concerning the return of John Schneider as Jonathan Kent even before the season premiere. As such an important guest who was known to appear by most fans, he got that guest credit in the beginning.

I disagree with the Lana/Chloe thing. I wanted to see more Chloe and less Lana. Chloe has been a great supporting character even though the writers did make her story more convoluted like Lana's story toward the end.

That theme of Darkness and Light and Christianity lowered the quality of what could have been a much better final season.
