Despite my fanboying, this console generation I just can't find the want to have any sentimental alligence to any company. Just doesn't feel like it did back in the days of SEGA vs. Nintendo.
That said, LIVE seems to win out in my book, and not out of fanboy fun.... it's just got the overall best value for my needs tastes and fun. Most of what I read in that article is what I've been hearing about the PS3 since it launchd, "In the future it's going to be awesome, it's got a bright future, and it's always getting better," and all that rut.
Things I'm seeing lauded are either things I really don't care about (like downloading full games) or stuff LIVE's already had for a while now. The article gived the edge to PSN because it's >going< to have achievements? :sly:
Throught the article it gives PSN the edge because of things it's going to have or going to have things that LIVE already has.
I've got no love really for Microsoft or hate. But LIVE and the 360 in general... it's the best video game experience I've ever had, actually. Only thing that could make it better is giving it the superficial lable of Dreamcast 360 by SEGA and I'd be in gamer heaven. I'd buy t-shirts and wear 'em with pride.
PSN and PS3... like I've said, from all I've heard since it's launch it will have a bright future. And if it does and they deliver on all that promise, then I'll join up. But still... all I'm hearing is "it's gonna" or "it's finally getting."
PSN being free... that is pretty cool. But for myself, and I'm relatively poor and not even close to being a high roller, over the expanse of an entire year, I really don't notice the loss of 50 bucks from my pocket.
"In the future" when PS3 catches up and surpasses all the service we get form 360, THEN I'll turn my eye on Microsoft to get up off their duffs and make sure I'm either getting my money's worth or stop ripping me off.
