I'm gonna have to agree with King, here. You gain nothing from watching something you don't like just because you're "loyal to the franchise". That's like a captain too proud to abandon a sinking ship...you're only hurting yourself.
The point of it being a television show is to grab your attention mainly on an episode to episode basis without having to wait till the finale to see the bigger picture and then somehow "reward" the viewers for sitting through hours upon hours of crap. It's called good writing. If you don't feel it's apparent within the first few episodes, hell, time to abandon ship folks!
But see, if you want to understand a series
objectively, then you finish the series even if you don't like it. That's the main problem with a lot of people, they think we're hurting ourselves, even if the fact remains that we're expanding whatever knowledge we have of the whole franchise. Another problem with missing out episodes is when the time comes that you might need the story on a future movie or an All Rider-type story.
Take Den-O for example, I almost skipped the whole series because I couldn't fathom the fact that my beloved Kamen Rider image is being tainted by a comedic attempt to attract more children to the franchise... But I swallowed my pride, and watched it. It might have left a bad taste in my mouth, but I saw its bright sides. Then came Decade's Den-O episode, and the never-ending release of Den-O movies. Kabuto might not be having any more movies to come anytime soon, but at least you can compare it to Decade's Kabuto episode.
And haven't you guys heard of "completists"? If there are toy completists, then there's also series completists. You might not want to complete what completists completes, but that doesn't change the fact that they are there. Everybody has their own points of view, you might not like the opposite of what you like, but learn to respect what other's want, especially if it's not negatively affecting other people.
This thread presents a simple question, you've all had your piece on why not to continue watching Kabuto, but that doesn't mean you can say "stupid" to the posts of other people who thinks otherwise or try to force them of whatever your opinion is.
And PS: I agree that a television show is there to entertain us... But some people are not sticking with the specific entertainment garnered from a specific series, but rather from the franchise as a whole. It's called "looking at the bigger perspective" and how that single story affects every other story in the franchise. And at least you have the credibility to compare, because you've seen it as a whole, so you have enough knowledge and reason to do so...
And PPS: You can't apply the "sinking ship" logic to this show, why? Because it's not like Toei is going to stop showing the whole series in the middle or it's not like it has no fans at all.
