Seven Star Fighting God Guyferd

Guyferd??I really didn't like this series that much maybe because of the fight scenes-sequence,it feels kinda slow IMHO but at least i really love the way they've designed Guyferd's suit which is great!! Oh well i still prefer Guyferd over Justirisers and Sazer X..:buttrock:

BTW when it was aired in the Philippines twice on ABC 5(it was thier last toku back then alongside with reruns of VR Troopers every noontime),Gou Kazama/Guyferd's voice actor was the same guy who voiced Blue 3 and Plasmanoid in the Bioman english dubs..

I watched it when I was young and I liked it a lot, it's been a long time so I don't remember some details but I do remember it being entertaining, it's a pity I couldn't finish it though.

ah i missed that show! one of my precious memories especially sort of better than Gransazer. a bit realistic and of course focusing on karateka/karate. my fave on Desferd. :castlerock:

I like the fact that this series was never meant to sell toys, as it was a straightforward action series! Very well played out. The Chouseishin Series is even better, but I am still very impressed with Guyferd, for taking the Japanese superhero formula to more realistic levels. This was Toho's much-needed return to the genre.

Guyferd is a great series. Toho need to realize that "Majide" will not bring them more money than Godzilla or other tokusatsu series like Zone Fighter.

Didn't this show had an actress who would later be cast in Gransazer?

Yes.

I've seen all of EJF's subs of Guyferd, and after I ran out of those, I watch the rest of the series raw, just to see how things turned out.

For the most part, I actually enjoyed watching the fight scenes. The non-transformed ones, especially. The transformed fights often seemed a bit lackluster to me. I wanted more fighting than just having Guyferd and the Mutian-of-the-week shoot beams at each other, which is often what those battles became.

I'm eagerly awaiting EJF's return to this show!

Guyferd is a pretty neat toku series.

Has a good cast of actors. Good fight scenes which were natural martial arts and no wire work. The story is well paced (though felt kinda slow in the last third, due to most of the villains being killed off by then). And was like one of the first toku to use video instead of the traditional film.

Overall, an interesting precursor to the Chouseishin series.
