It wasn't interesting to me, really bad designs, uninteresting characters, linear cookie cutter characters at that, odd plot development, etc. And I don't watch shows for "Hurrr strong weapons". But all that is off topic.

Asteroid belts are no problem as they're pretty easy to get across. The Van Allen radiation belts are more of a problem, but still not much to worry about. by the time we have interstellar craft capable of playing a seedship role, we'll easily be able to protect against that radiation. I mean ****, right now all you'd need is a thick layer of water and ice around the ship. Impractical but it works, and you could use the water throughout the trip.

Anyway, the reason we look for other planets is not necessarily to find others to live on, but also to see if anyone else could be living there already. We humans are explorers at our hearts and within each of us lives the code of Star Trek - To seek out new life, and new civilizations. To find slutty alien babes and shag them rotten. To boldly go where no one has gone before!

too bad, technically we will probably be dead before any of this happens.

I've got good genes. My grandma's still got her wits and her health, and she's 93. So I figure, I've actually benefited from science and healthy eating, I can probably count on at least 120 years. And then with the massive benefits of bio science that have been emerging and the cell research that is coming out about halting and even reversing the aging process in cells, I figure I can pay for a few Leónization treatments and get to see what the year 2100 looks like.
