S.H.Figuarts - News and Reviews

You're surprised? I'm not. Hell, I'm more surprised they weren't revealed a few weeks ago. It was odd to just post pictures of a Figuart and say, "He goes up for preorder tonight." Anyway, I preordered Kylo.

I just don't like when a Figuart is announced early like that. Who knows how the movie will play out? Kylo might end up with some awesome new weapon or something near the end of the movie, something that would make for a great accessory to go with the figure. But then guess what? Oh, the Figuarts doesn't come with it. We've seen this happen before. Figuarts rushes to get stuff out, and as a result, the toy doesn't have something the fans would have wanted. If you're lucky, they'll package it with the next figure, but don't get your hopes up.

Of course, then again, time isn't always a factor. Jedi Luke is an example. I personally liked it when his jacket was slightly open, revealing that little bit of grey. Made the suit look more dynamic instead of just all black. But no, Figuarts decided to have his jacket fully buttoned, probably because that's how he was in 90% of the movie. Didn't even try to give us an option to change it, like swap-able pieces of something.

I believe it was to coincide with the Force Friday toy reveals, and they wanted to give it adequate time to release them in time for the movie.

Yet again, another bad decision. I don't think Force Friday would have been terrible without these Figuarts. I could go on about how rushing for a certain release date has ruined a lot of other things, but I think you get the point.

So what do you guys do about loose legs on the newer bodies like the Gaim and Drive lines? Mine are starting to loosen up in the leg/thigh area and it's bothering me but I have no idea what to do.
How do you pop off the legs/thighs from the waist/crotch? I don't know how the anatomy works for the newer bodies. Pretty sure it's not a ball joint.

Would still really appreciate some assistance on this.

I wonder if they'll give him a separate red arm attachment...doubtful..

Anyone else bothered by the long necks Figuarts have been giving people? (my Luke's neck is long, the stormtroopers necks were long, and now it seems like this one might be long too)

Probably most excited for this figure. Just the regalness of the chrome trooper and her sharper helmet and cape make me want this figure!

Looks good and... wait a tick... Does Phasma have a CLOTH CAPE?!

HALLELUJAH! I'm just wondering why it took figuarts this long to invest in cloth capes. The "Our War Game" Omnimon has a cloth cape with a metal wire for posing/which makes it even more AWESOME and now, Captain Phasma/Who could easily be this generation's Boba Fett has a cloth cape which makes me wanna drop a preorder on her ASAP.

I'm just hoping that when they get back to Sentai and characters like the MagiRangers & BullBlack, they consider investing in cloth capes/That would make the figures so much cooler. Plus it would make a renewal of Kiva Emperor/Dark Kiva 50% more bad-ass.

Oh, I hear you. Hell, Kylo could end up being the next Darth Maul and I regret ordering him. That is also why I didn't order the STs, I have no idea if I will like this movie. I can always hunt them down later on Mandarake or something, or just deal with Hasbro's.

On the other hand, it is nice to see them actually tackle something on time for once. There is no reason why the Kamen Riders should take 7+ months to come out after their show has premiered. It should be out in 3 at the most.

Eh, I really don't care. It would have been cool, but given how bulky interchangeable body parts have been in the past, I would rather have a solid piece. It would just stick out too much if you could swap them out. I'm just happy they went with this version of Luke first since this is my favorite version of him.

My Luke looks fine.

She looks cool, but I need to see the movie first before I invest anything more in TFA line.

Oh god, you had me worried there for a second. Nope, it looks rubber to me (and thank the gods for that, I hate cloth capes).

While it's good to get them quickly, I'm not too confident about the quality. Even with 6-7 months worth of time, they can still mess up some product (while I don't have the figures, Wizard line (which was released, IIRC, 6 months after the premier) seem to get a lot criticism for the figure quality, for example). I can't bare to imagine all the rush that could happen given such short span of time.
Personally, I don't mind them taking their time as long as they still produce high quality Figuarts. sits in corner still waiting for Type Tridoron figuarts, caressing my grey-ing beard and hair lol

Then again, to each of their own I guess

SHF Drive came out in April and turn out great. I would imagine SHF Ghost will be out by April or May 2016. If Drive gets reissue next year then Bluefin will probably release SHF Drive a year after it's release similar to what happen with Gaim.

I don't think Wizard's faults lie with it being "rushed." It's faults lie with Bandai just not caring enough about it because they are releasing so many damn Figuarts now. The more series they produce, the more their quality control falters.

am i the only one that sees all this star wars stuff and thinks "so what?"
