S.H.Figuarts - News and Reviews

Kylo Ren and the new Storm Trooper? All ready?! The movie isn't even out yet! This is bumping the hype to an all new level, and I'm all ready DESPERATELY trying my hardest not to be suckered in by the Star Wars hype.

You're surprised? I'm not. Hell, I'm more surprised they weren't revealed a few weeks ago. It was odd to just post pictures of a Figuart and say, "He goes up for preorder tonight." Anyway, I preordered Kylo.

As for Orga, all I can say is I REALLY hope he also comes with a bonus effect part for the sword. Would be great recreating that classic fight scene from the movie. But he probably won't. I don't think any of the Faiz figures came with awesome effect parts for recreating the kicks or anything.

I believe it was to coincide with the Force Friday toy reveals, and they wanted to give it adequate time to release them in time for the movie.

Re: the Star Wars line, I think I'm out. Everyone else enjoy!!

It's starting to lose its appeal to me, with just one or two figures being announced here and there, plus the dreaded expensive Tamashii exclusives, and the crappy CDN dollar, I have lots of reasons to cut this line.

I may just end up sticking to Dragonball... even the Marvel and DC lines are beginning to get tedious - too much Iron Man stuff I don't care about and it looks like Injustice is now dead too.

So what do you guys do about loose legs on the newer bodies like the Gaim and Drive lines? Mine are starting to loosen up in the leg/thigh area and it's bothering me but I have no idea what to do.

If it's the ball joint you're talking about, you can pop the leg off and use clear nail polish to thicken up the peg of the ball joint. Make sure you give it enough time to cure though, and you can do one or two coats. However, this would definitely hurt resale.

How do you pop off the legs/thighs from the waist/crotch? I don't know how the anatomy works for the newer bodies. Pretty sure it's not a ball joint.

It's the opposite for me. The Star Wars and Dragon Ball lines are the only things that seem to be all that interesting anymore from Figuarts. Sure, I still buy the occasional Kamen Rider, but I've come to realize I don't really need to own every form of every character. Hell, I wish I hadn't bought Raia, Gai, Tiger, and Verde from Ryuki. The only other Gaim figure I have any desire to own is Ryugen so that I can have the main 4. Mostly, if I had the money, I would be buying the bikes at this point in time for my riders, especially the Skyrider bike and figure two pack since the waist peg on my current Sky has a crack in it.

Sentai is dead.
MonsterArts are pretty much dead.
Sailor Moon is about to be done with the figures that matter unless they want to tackle the villains.
DC is dead (not that I wanted Injustice Figuarts to begin with).
Marvel is uninteresting (not that the figures are bad, just they will never have the character selection like Hasblow).
The video game lines are not covering series I need to own figures to.
