personally, I despise Rider-Tans because they go against everything riders are about.

Females getting to be Riders goes against the rider principle? Nice to see your chauvinistic colors come out.

Rider-tan's are an artistic rendition of girls getting to be riders and still be feminine and adorable. If that "goes against everything riders are about" then you need to do some SERIOUS re-evalauating.

Riders are about achieving justice and protecting people. Cute girls in frilly dresses can't do that? You are sadly mistaken.

And if we REALLY want to get on the topic of "demeaning", then how about that all female riders and characters are more or less useless? How about that girls never get get to be the lead or the big time heroes? not THAT is demeaning. Cute drawings are -not- demeaning.

Giving Kamen Rider a feminine anime girl look is so adorable. I quite like it especially Psyga, Faiz, Blade, Ibuki, Kabuto, Zeronos and Kiva-tan. They are so cute!
(on the side note: The Kamen Riders in maid forms are complete nono.)

The thing is, these series are still made in Japan (DON'T get me started on that!), and being a show targeted towards young boys, it's not really surprising that female characters get short-shrifted. I recall sometime back that a US series shown in Japan was actually edited to make the female main character less important.

That said, I repeat: Don't take this too seriously. I think the Rider-Tans are fun characters, and in particular one artist's renditions are my favorite (the ones I post are from Kazuu, a big KR Blade fan).

If some people are actually rudely offended by this thread, go ahead and request the mods to remove it, but I'd like to see proper grounds for that.

Kamen Rider is much too important a series in my life to take seriously.

But not until Kamen Rider Siren appeared, she's one tough hottie that broke the Female Kamen Rider Curse (even if she got Vented @ Ep 30 by Kamen Rider Strike but she returned to show her amazing stunts with the help of the Advent Master >ERM!< The Chairman of the Kitchen Stadium> :sweat: (GRRR!!! Why can't I spit it out? Oh yeah, it's the Crying Freeman, DD's Jimmy Lee, and the Crow's MARK DACASCOS-sensei. That's right! The badass sensei of the Kamen Rider Senshis) Eubulon out from the Advent Void). Look at Kase/Carrie Reichenbach, she rocks to the epic max despite her attitude back in her pre-vent days but then during her after-vent, she is so awesome. She's like the perfect female version of Len, (obvious in terms of suit design) and so on.
