Resistance Taskforce Strikenger (RPG Thread)

As Elizabeth continued to tend to the crops, she thought she heard something. Like something hitting the ground. Wasn't Talyn up there? Hmm, he's either done lounging about...or... Soon enough, her Strike Brace beeped, indicating that she got a message. Proceeding to listen to it, Elizabeth started to put away her tools in an out of sight place, not really having time to go back to the shed. After doing that, Elizabeth set off to the Nerve Center, where she would meet everyone else.

Emma walked slowly forward looking in each direction and even up within the coverage of the trees. It appeared that they children were becoming more skillful remaining still where the hid making no motion that would betray their whereabouts to the young woman. That was until she notices two set of feet poking out from a nearby wild raspberry bush. Feeling their eyes drawn upon her nervously proceed to walk past them until hearing the faint footsteps of another drawing upon them. Ceasing her involvement of the game stood alert waiting to see who approached.

From the sound of the footstep direction followed by the cracking sound of wood being stripped from its tree turn recognizing the all too familiar silhouette of Jack Baphomet. What a puzzling character to be her fellow teammate he was amongst the team and yet drawn to him. Emma’s eyes closed halfway watching Jack tear into the tree bark as if it were jerky. “Everyone come out now†Emma replied without taking her eyes off Jack, “We must conclude this game for there is much for you to do at home and promise that we’ll play this game again when I have time to spare.†Sounds of disappointment resounded around Emma as each children came out into the open. Though the children did not move upon seeing why their game was interrupted.

“Hello Jack†Emma walked to meet him halfway, “Have you taken time to break away from your duties as well? Or has my father sought you to keep an eye on me?†Aside from her ‘sister’ Madison, enjoyed what time she could spend with him when they were not fulfilling their work responsibilities or training. The platinum-hair young woman would not get the chance at the moment even to ask what driven him to eat a bark of wood as they received the call on their Strike Braces. The Strike Braces, essential to their efforts in the long waged struggle for humanity. Offering Jack a soft smile turn slightly facing him and the children “Heh heh…All right you guys what did I say? We really have to go now.†motioning them to leave.

The one boy who had asked Emma if she was all right merely stared at Jack frowning deeply before turning around taking chase after the others leaving the two Strikengers alone. “So it is time†she spoke dryly touching her cheek. It matter not the size of their mission long that it helped many and honored those lost to them.

Johann was truly upset about the mission being now and it made him remember," Those files. What could of been in there I could find their military files, and some experimental weapon files, but whatever was in that file just was to secret even for me to know they had it more guarded then my own file." Johann said that for he even was able to track down his information. While walking just so he wouldn't waste what energy he had left from his five day straight hacking assignment Johann tried his best to keep himself awake while he thought," What will be of me after this? After are assignment is over? Will I just become some freak or will I just be thrown away? Why would these people make me just to use me even if it meant to help them. Who said they could be the ones to make something just for one purpose." As Johann entered the Nerve center he headed to the briefing room, but soon his fatigue got to him. Leaning up against a corner wall he then took out a shot from his pocket and remembered what his mother told him," Now remember some assignments will have you going for days maybe weeks with barely any or no rest. Now this drug is something like a caffeine pill, but it is very concentrated. Now even though it is dangerous for your body to be pushing itself past its limits you must use it if ever necessary." Johann took the shot and injected it right into his right arm's vein soon after Johann felt awake and more energized then before.

Entering the briefing room Johann waited for Nathaniel to speak.

Jack looked at the piece of bark, as if he had never seen it before, and with a slightly bemused expression he tossed it away. He had noticed the boy, though, and his eyes followed him as he left. He spoke not a word to Emma, just walked behind her at a very close proximity. He reached out and lifted up some of her hair, feeling it between his fingers, inspecting it curiously, as a zoologist might inspect some astounding new species of animal. He hmm’d under his breath and carefully plucked off a single hair, raising it to eye level as they walked. After much contemplation and rolling it about his mind, he placed the hair on the tip of his tongue but did not swallow it. His senses were heightened in such a way as he could determine the make-up of something through tasting it; he himself was composed from experimental genomes and anti-Dezaras technology, organic but ultimately non-biological, so these creatures he now found himself fighting alongside intrigued him. They looked like him, but they were something different, something alien to him.

Having received the Call as well, Madison had put away the tools to be worked on, as well as her sandpaper, in a service closet for further work upon her return. Making her way to the Nerve Center to find out their first mission, Madison's thoughts flew to the day she started to train harder, which was a bit after her "sister" died. This is it....the moment I have been preparing for... she silently thought, encountering Elizabeth along the way. "Some of the tools have rust forming on them, but they are still functional. Give me some time to scratch out the rust," she told Elizabeth, walking along with her to the Nerve Center.

It took a little while, much to Nathaniel's dismay, but the team finally assembled in the briefing room after a minute or to. They lacked punctuality, and would have to work on responding more promptly not just so they could assemble plans quicker, but so they could get into action quicker and respond more effeciently. The briefing room was dark as always, illuminated only by the various monitors that displayed various places on the surface and maps of the surface. Talyn knew it quite well as he had spent his fair share of time there when he was younger, being taught how to read the maps and recognize certain signs on the monitors. Nathaniel did eventually hand over full command of the team to Talyn after all in order to give them more functional autonomy rather than things having to be relayed to the team through him. But ffor all intensive purposes Talyn could be said to be still in training when it came to leading the team. "Good you're all here." he told them. "I'll cut right to the chase. As you know the population down here has been steadily expanding. As a result our need for certain resources has grown as well." he said before directing their attention to one of the maps. "While our water gathering methods and crop growing workforce will catch up eventually, as of now though the needs exceed what is available." he told them before pointing out several points on the map. "These are all storage facilities of the Dezaras, they contain pure water, quality food, and possibly some other resources and of course human workers." he explained. "We will be unable to hit them all but we do need you to raid one of them and get whatever you can back here." he told them. "Which one you take is entirely up to you and how you go about it will be up to you. And how you get there and back will be your responsibility as well." he told them. He could think of several ways in which the team could pull it off, but these people needed to be able to formulate their own plans of action, he wouldnt be doing them any favors if he had done the thinking for them. "I'll leave you to your planning." he said before exiting the room.

So here it was, from here they would be on their own for the mission. From here on in Talyn would be calling the shots. Soon he stepped forward to the table in the center of the room. "I-I think we should raid this warehouse." he said, with a little anxiety present in his voice as he pointed to the location farthest from Freehaven. It was the furthest away, by hitting that one maybe they could throw the Dezaras off a little. He could already tell that the others were looking at him with some doubt. After all how were they going to get there and back? He thought for a moment but luckily it came to him. "To begin with we will exit Freehaven, then we find a Warp Network node, from there we will have Johann hack into it and take us there. Once there Jack, and Iwill focus on repelling any Dezaras forces that show up. Elizabeth will set up explosives around various points of entry in order to slow them down if they get past us and after that she will join up with me and Jack, as well as around the building itself inside. Madison and Emma; it will be up to you to cut off power to any Dezaras stasis machines and keeping any human slaves calm, and make sure they know we are on their side. Finally Johann you have the most important task, you need to hack the warp network again and create a warp field large enough to teleport us, any slaves, and all of the resources back here to Freehaven, once that is all done Elizabeth will detonate her explosives and blow the place while we safely warp back here." he said.

"So what do you guys think? Can we pull it off?"

Johann stared down at Tahlyn and he said with all truth and honesty," You've proven your training has worked." Johann began to go over in his head all possible outcomes of this plan and after about a hundred simulations he ran in through his head and he then said," We'll be fine. My hacking job even though you all make it sound hard is not that tough of a deal. Tahlyn while Elizabeth goes to set up the explosives I will cover her. Trust me I have combat abilities even though I'm probably the weakest of the group." Johann's drug had activated and his body was fully active. Johann then began to study the map and searching for any places that could lead to a ambush or a place they could hide it out if the going got to rough.

Listening to Talyn assign each team member's role, Madison nodded as she listened intently to her assignment, nodding intently as he spoke. However, she also noticed a hint of fear in his voice, picking up on the fact that Talyn was fearful of being the cause of the failure for the team. After he finished speaking, Madison stepped forward and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Talyn, I know that you're scared that the mission will go haywire because of you. But I assure you that we can do it. Emma and I will make sure of that," she told Talyn, giving him a soft smile in hopes of putting his heart at ease.

Looking back at the monitor, which then displayed a row of humans in stasis capsules, Madison let her smile fade as her thoughts flew to the mission: to shut down the power to the stasis machines and to assure the human slaves inside that they are not enemies. I am going to need a map to study which areas have little to no security, so that Emma and I can covertly rescue these humans... she frowned, remembering her parents once more.

"All right...thanks, Madison..." Elizabeth said. She really didn't know how to feel about Madison. She looked like someone that you didn't want to mess with, but she was rather kind and emotional instead. Truly an example of "Don't judge a book by it's cover"... Eh, but maybe I shouldn't do that...I get enough crap from people because of my name...she wouldn't like people thinking she was a hard ass bitch either...

"Yeah, don't sweat it, Talyn, you got a good plan..." Looking at the map for the best places to put her explosives, she smirked some. "Heh...they have too many narrow passageways at their entry points to mess with us...just a few well placed explosives and those hallways are good as rubble..." Elizabeth stated. "And for our escape plan, I'll just mine the area before we go...they might try rushing us as we get away...that'll make them reckless..." She said to herself, thinking of the best way to put her talents to use...

When they arrived to the briefing room Emma had taken leave of Jack’s side stand by her sister side. The platinum-hair young woman had had taken notice of taken notice of his action during their rather silent walk towards the briefing room. The way he had walked behind saying hardly a word. The way he had taken few strands of her long hair inspecting it closely. It had only served as a reminder couple with the memories that she was not the real daughter of the team suit’s creator, but a clone.

A clone not biologically born into a family rather born from the suit’s creator taken from “Emma’s†DNA and memories. The only ones who treated her to be the real Emma was that of her father, Len Solei and adoptive sister, Madison Cross. Training along side them Emma was unaware if they knew of her father’s second project aside from their suits. From what she could only observed did not and much preferred that it stayed that way.

Listening close to the shared conversations nodded in agreement as her eyes remained transfixed onto the monitors. “Do you see, Talyn? Everyone here believes that your plan will work with everyone doing their part. More importantly we believe in you.†Emma spoke up smiling, “As you should place more trust in yourself too.†Giving him a brief nod focus her attention onto Madison worryingly.“Sis?â€
