Arc One: Beginnings
Episode 1:The Surface
The dim lighting provided by the lamps strewn across the subterranian ceiling of the refugee citadel known as Freehaven provided minimal light at best. Full lighting would require more power, and more power could show up on the Dezaras' radar, it was inconvinient but necessary to say the least. They provided just enough in order for people to see where they were going and ensure that they would be able to function properly at whatever sort of job they had in this underground city. For those that werent working in the lighted areas, night-wision goggles were provided when necessary. Chances are if someone lived down here and werent crippled or too young, they were put to work keeping this place functioning by growing food, purifying water, maintaining structures, and all sorts of other jobs that needed doing down there. At least down here though they would be working for themselves though, not for those damned space lizards, which was made the difficulties tolerable in contrast with the alternative of working to give the Dezaras pretty much everything they could want until they died.
Living down in Freehaven was by no means an idyllic life, far from it in fact, but still in comparison to the alternative it was better than the life up on the Earth's surface. But for one young man it was the only life he knew or remembered. He seemed to be the only one in Feeehaven that was idly sitting around and doing nothing, just sitting on top of the roof of his home, staring up towards the lights across the subterranian city. Talyn Grey was his name, and may as well have been one of those most dedicated to giving the citizens of Freehaven a better life, and keeping them safe. How was that possible when it seemed that he had no actualy duty around the complex like practicaly everyone else? He was one of six skilled individuals from different backgrounds who had went through years of training and physical conditioning in order to prepare them for what may have been the most important duty in the whole complex: striking back against those that conquered and enslaved humanity. Years ago the Deus-X movement which would eventually become th governing body of Freehaven began designing a means to fight back against the Dezaras even with their limited resources and become a recognizable symbol of hope to humanity. Eventually the Striker Gears and Suits were made, each with a different specialty and abilities able to function effectively alone but working best as a team. It took a long time, practically being worked on years before a couple members of the team had even been born, but eventually a series of weapons and suits strong enough to effectively take on the Dezaras was made, the Striker Gears, with their users being known collectively as the Strikengers. Talyn was one such individual, given the Series Black Striker Gear, he was meant to be the designated leader of the team though wether or not he could actually lead had yet to be seen as they had not been dispatched just yet. Yes they had been training for years, and after the completion of the Striker Gears, they had been through a few training scenarios together, but the fact that training and the real thing often tended to be noticably different was just common sense.
He couldnt help but wonder why they hadnt been sent out yet. Everything was ready for them wasnt it? The suits were fine tuned to optimally work for each individual team member, the weapons were ready, and he was fairly sure that the team was ready so what was the hold up? At the same time he couldnt help but be a little relieved at the same time. You could say he was both nervous and anxious about their first venture on to the surface to strike the first blow against the Dezaras. He could only assume that Nathaniel Grey, Deus-X's leader and his father, had his reasons for not sending him and the others out just yet. For now though he would just wait and stare at the Striker Brace on his wrist, just in case a message from Deus-X to move out finally came.
((For now just do whatever))
