Regarding TVN's PayPal

TVN doesn't harass Century Kings. From what I understand they appreciate them quite a bit. Know why? They aren't trying to sub stuff TVN already is subbing, and they do a good job subbing what they do. Or he does, I can't remember if CK is one dude or more. Plus, they don't insult TVN either. I've only been in the TVN community for a few months, so I don't know about all that other stuff mentioned, and I'm sure it's either been a misunderstanding, or someone did something to generally piss KingRanger off, as he usually is the agressor and you guys shouldn't group all of TVN together with any single entity, be it KingRanger, takenoko, or Magenta, or whoever.

In the case of the PayPal thing, TVN has not violated PayPal TOS from what I understand. It's a donation, not a payment for any service, and they do not violate the TOS for promoting illegal activites, because they are against anyone downloading stuff that can be purchased. The toku they sub does not fall under this because it isn't something that can be purchased legally elsewhere.

Whoever reported TVN is an asshole.

Most of us here don't group all TVN and hate. KR's agression and action is usually the target of ridicule. I haven't seen takenoko ever really do anything that wasn't cool.

Here's a good reason why ol' Kingy isn't much of a favorite around here.

TVN.... nobody doubts the service they provide, but over the years their public relations is even worse than Sony's.

Fansubs are a real gray area. It's my understanding that even some who actually work in Japanese television applaud the efforts of the fansubbing community as it's essentially free advertising and a free way to see if it would be profitable to license subs in the US.

i agree whole hartedly, and Elite Justice fanSubs Does not suport any actions like this and encourges the person who did this despicable act to not do so again, please keep the community going

TVN is already blaming us for what happened. If someone here really was invovled... I have no words for how dissapointed I will be.

My only hope is that whoever is responsible steps up and comes clean.

To do something like this and then run away and hide.... it's just terrible.

Eh, I only came here to check out what was going on with the PayPal thing in TVN. That and I discovered someone here was using my avatar and logo stuff without crediting me. I'm almost afraid to stick around, what with already having been banned once from TVN forums for insulting KingRanger in a rude and uncalled for manner, even if it was in jest.

While there might be some in the Japanese tv industry that looks the other way towards fan subs, not all companies do. Wowow is one such company that will go after fansubbers and people who distribute their properties.
