PSY is fucking awesome, but how is he so successful?

but she is a figure skater, she'll appear at the olympics anyways even if she doesn't sing......wait, who are you talking about again? Insooni? or Kim Yu Na?

:rofl2:

Sorry, but that was so much fail.

The skater is 김연아 (Gim Yeon-a). The singer is Gim Yun-a.

People keep telling me that the Revised Romanization shouldn't be used. Look at this.

I don't even know why she chose that. It's not even close.

I highly doubt that. 인순이 probably will get one.

I want 김윤아 to sing, but 인순이 has like a 98% chance of being picked for the closing ceremony because she's so famous. I don't think that newer Pop will be pushed. They may as well get 간미연 because she's awesome. I'm just saying.

Speak English, dude.

Sorry, Black Ranger RX, but your posts about this have been so wtf.

http://www.ted.com/talks/kevin_allocca_why_videos_go_viral.html

Gangnam Style mainly follows the viral trend. The other thing is that people think that Koreans are of a magical entertainment race.

New Zealand is making good music. You're just listing K-pop.

I stick to my personal opinion. This video means nothing.

PSY's viral success came out of nowhere. It had nothing to do with dancing like a horse, or some weirdo dancing his weiner over PSY's head, or Korean girls butts, Gangnam Style was a success because it just was.

Which is pretty much the same with all other videos.

"Friday" by Rebecca Black was a pile of ****, but there are millions of other pop songs that are a pile of **** too that don't even get as much hate as Rebecca Black. "Agadoo" by Black Lace used to annoy the **** people in Britain back in the 80's, and even spawned a parody by TV show "Spitting Image" called "The Chicken Song". But nowadays Agadoo is well forgotten about and nobody even 'Agadoo Rolls' people on the internet.

There are loads of crap/uninteresting videos on YouTube that get lots of attention. Such as a video of some fat kid singing about cupcakes, or some fat guy miming to "Dragostea Din Tei" by the O-Zone, or some idiot using a broom as a light sabre, or some stupid teenage girl called Boxxy who blabbers about some inane **** that nobody knows or cares about.. Why these videos are so popular is beyond me. All I can guess is that people are just random.

Someone on YouTube could do a home made movie that looks graphically as awesome as any Hollywood film, he could transform into a metal armor and fight some awesome looking CGI monster.. but it may never get much attention because everybody's watching some weirdo mime to "Dragostea Din Tei".

Interestingly the Angry German Kid (the one who smashes his keyboard and screams "ICH WILL UNREAL TOURNAMENT SPIELEN!!) is big in Japan. From Nico Nico Douga there are loads of remixes of the Angry German Kid, mostly based on songs from the video game Touhou. But for some strange reason Angry Croyt (the American kid who screams while playing Halo 2 on his XBox) doesn't seem to be big in Japan. There are no Touhou remixes of him like there are of the Angry German Kid.

So yeah. Videos become viral out of nowhere. People are just random. One day people would be like "PFFT!! A Korean guy... so what?!!", then later people become like "OMFG!!! A KOREAN GUY!!! AAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!"

Who knows, a year from now or so, some Australian Car Insurance commercial could become viral around the world. It could be just a normal car insurance advert, there's nothing interesting about this advert, just some random Australian guy blah blah blah-ing about car insurance, with some boring generic music playing in the background...

But although there's nothing interesting about this commercial, people from all over the world could be sharing the commercial on FaceBook, Twitter, re-uploading it onto YouTube, talking about it in real life, etc.. even though there's no reason to. Pretty much people could be just plastering this commercial all over the internet. People could be making YouTube Poops of this commercial and make him say stupid things like "G'day Mate!! I Fap 2 Car Insurance!!". Even Japanese people could be making Touhou remixes of this Australian Car Insurance commercial and putting them on Nico Nico Douga. People would be confused and not understand why this commercial has been plastered everywhere.. it just did.

..but I'm not saying that it WILL happen, just suggesting it COULD.

Well, I think this whole hype will show its true hold up once his next big video comes up.

Maybe..

..unless people will look back at Gangnam Style and think "Korean people are like SOOOOOOOO last year!! Australians who blabber about Car Insurance are the future!!".

Well, the internet is unpredictable.
