Power Rangers XV 2009 - Adapted From Toei Or Annimated?

I'd personally prefer PR to go animated. It means they can do whatever they want and create their own story which is in no way dependant on source footage or concepts. Granted there's no way to know how it'd turn out, but it's my opinion that the franchise would benefit from it.

But it's Disney. Animation has gotten worse and lazier over the years. The action will be extremely lazy, not worth it. The stories might be nice. But I dont think PR will survive as a cartoon. PR survives as a live action because half of the production is done for them. All the suits are made, there's footage to use, all they have to do is film some new bits and add different actors.

Besides, there's 1001 cartoons on American airwaves. There's only one show like Power Rangers on the air. It doesnt need to become a cartoon, ever,

PR as it presently is needs a rest, animated or canceled. Its clearly not going to last longer as a live-action series

Didnt Kamen Rider take some kind of break after RX anyway? The break clearly helped it, it probably had a few specials in between, but the franchise was "rested" to the point it came back and became a superb alternate option to Sentai.

One of CN's biggest successes lately has been Ben 10, its Pokemon with Digimon's balance of comedy and seriousness, and PR's "monster of the day" premise. Then you had "Monkey Team", a series deeply rooted in nods to Tokastu lore, Astroboy etc. If Disney can balance that for an animated PR, it could be fine.

I hope that part is true, that Toei are really trying to convince Disney not to go animated. I kind of enjoy the idea of Sentai actually caring about Power Rangers even if it's just in a small way

More like they dont want to see their only source of worldwide exposure be diminshed.

The only way I'd be cool with animated Power Rangers, is if it's original and not just MMPR.

That would be impossible to make succesful. The audience would just assume its some inane little wanna-be with "PR" slapped on it. The exact same mentality they have had for years with the series as live-action (personally, I think if they actually KEPT a cast, that problem wouldnt exist)

It HAS to be MMPR as far as this direction goes. It might be slightly more original and unrestricted, but it'd still have to be MMPR to make this series popular, or at least noticable

This is an interesting angle.

According to Wikipedia, RX's last episode was in September 1989. There wasn't a Kamen Rider series until Kuuga in 2000 (ignoring the Direct To Video Shin in 1992)

If live action PR does take a break, hopefully it won't be that long.
