Power Rangers Samurai - News Thread! (Premiers February 7th @ 8pm/7pm central!)

There are a few things I fear if Saban really wants to do anything with Decade.

It may actually make it more difficult to adapt previous Rider shows, if that is what they wanted.
For example, if Blade got an adaption, it would be confusing as hell.
"Hey. Isn't that the evil Masked Rider that the monster used in Power Rangers? Why is he a hero now?"
Even a kid would notice

Saban COULD be clever and say that all the Kamen Riders are a part of one big team, but this also worries me, as I suddenly think back and remember VR Troopers and the idea of combining source footage that doesn't really fit together.

Mentor - "Oh no! The big baddie has send down 3 monsters" *footage of a grongi, an Undead and an Imagin are show on a screen*

Kuuga - "Let us split up and take them down!"
Blade / Den-O - "Right!"

*Enter Kuuga, Blade, Den-O footage, that does not look similar in any way*

I also don't like that Kamen Rider has to get the PR stamp on it. I didn't like Dragon Knight that much, but I liked that fact that Steve wanted it to be a show that stood on it's own legs, and do away with the common thought that "Everything life-action is the same as Power Rangers"

about the season splitting in two seasons

they did this with zeo , they did the first half of 20 episodes until may and then they take the summer break and resume the second 20 episodes in september of 1996,

i remember they did this, like when they coundnt form the zeo megabattlezord in the season 1 finale of zeo, then they did, to be continued, which i thought it was the end, then in september, they resumed the episode in season 2 with the debut of the zeo megabattlezord.

that's how its going to be done. it's not a surprise they are doing this because they did this with most of seasons of pr when saban was still doing power rangers.

people are jumping the concussions because when disney took over, the episodes were continuing through the summer, which was a bad thing for toy sales because they werent getting things in at that time.

i think it's fair that they are taking a summer break so the stores will have the toys by the time they resume the second season. i remember when zeo having a summer break and i went toysrus seeing that they had a new ranger, they had golden power staff and the morphers, so it gave the distributors time to get the stuff in and not rushing because the new episodes werent running in the summer time so there wasnt alot of demand of new toys.

when disney aired the episodes in summer, the distributors were having a hard time getting the stuff in because of so much demand, they werent able to get everything. so i believe this is a good move by saban.

I will have to tell you the truth... I'm not even excited about Samurai/Masked Rider Decade team up. I personally think it is bad idea to buy the footage. I mean, look at Masked Rider, it has been failed MISERABLY. I hate to see the next Kamen Rider to be fail again in US.

Now, look at Kamen Rider Dragon Knight in Japan, they love this show. I think it would be the best for Adness Entertainment, Steve Wang and the crew to produce the next Kamen Rider series instead of Saban doing this.

Just because the show work in Japan doesn't mean. That company should get another crack here in the states.. It failed here under thier watch just like Saban version did. If your willing to give Adness another shot. You should be willing to give Saban the same.. Also they already bought the footage from the sounds of it. So you have to tuff it out...

@FR But it flopped with it's targeted audience* the US * How is that successful?I'll admit I was part of the MR hatewagon for awhile after I watched KR but how is what Steve Wang did better?MR gets alot of hate for not being like/screwing up Black when Dragon Knight is NOTHING like Ryuki in fact DK is pretty much your standard hero show compared to Ryuki.Heck I found Decade more rediculous than MR But that's just me.

Personallly I think Den-O would be the best to adapt if there's another one as it doesn't have that many Riders and is pretty light hearted* Kids seem to love that **** these days* The fan in me wants Agito simply cause G3's my fave Rider * along with IXA * but I think it might not be successful. Kiva might be a good idea thanks to the recent teen vampire craze...

Excatly my point. Both shows flopped. To say it's ok to Adness to do the show again, but not Saban sounds stupid. It failed under both companies...

P.S. I thought DK was terrible any ways. I hated the generic music and henshin sound. For all Saban flaws. He a least got you excited for a henshin or with the background music in his shows..

But.... Saban's Masked Rider is NOT what Toei & Ishinomori wanted on bringing the Kamen Rider franchise in the US. The difference between Dragon Knight & Masked Rider is that the former makes you like you're watching a Kamen Rider show while the latter is a lame version of ALF w/ RX footage.

I like the pics from the licensing show. But I'm really waiting on this "video" upload.

You refering to that so called promo we heard about?

I totally disagree. I have watched several Kamen Rider shows and DK did not feel like KR at all. Not say MK did either... Also they brought over what they wanted to see on KR. It failed big time. Also Toei doesn't like what going on in Power Rangers yet it works. Not every thing Toei likes appeals to American audience..

Heck I recently watched a clip of MR on YT* one where Dex fights Shadow Moon * and the heroic music when he henshins got me more pumped than DK.I think it might be my inner child* I loved MR as a kid* waking up.^_^ and say what you will about Dex but atleast he has more emotional depth/personality than a rock.>_>
