[Z-Unit]

In the near future, the mysterious and sinister Venjix Computer Network is attempting to conquer and lay ruin to the entire planet. Mankind has retreated into environmentally-shielded domed cities to protect against the pollution and machines unleashed by Venjix. In the shining city of Corinth, an elite force of Rangers must learn to drive and operate an arsenal of radically advanced biotech vehicles in order to battle the attacking machine army bent on world domination.

Hmm, ok sounds like they're doing a lost galaxy concept. I'm getting a Zeo/Turbo vibe from this. Would be cool if the guys from the old machine empire made a comeback, also this is a great opurtunuty for them to bring Tommy back (or another ranger from the zeo/turbo era) in one of those 'ive fought these guys before...let me help you young new rangers fight them now' situations.

Really, some of you need to cut down on the Frosted Flakes. It's not going to be 2009 if the concept involves humans living in domes. It'll be set in the future.

'cept that we already have two important points in time (SPD, Sam's future and Time Force's era) that would make any of this dome city nonsense well...nonsense! SPD would have stopped Venjix if it happened after the show, and there would have beeen visible consequences if it happened before.

Its just too silly if its not set on Mirinoi. Or another colony.

Near future = within the next five years. I don't think they'll put a date on it.

And maybe by 2025 the world is a safe place to live in again, so SPD still fits in. Although I think Disney would sooner erase SPD's entire continuity if it gets in the way, rather than work around it.

They have to put a date on it. Like I said it's better off having RPM on another planet maybe in 2030 while SPD would be on Earth, RPM would be the protectors of another planet.

Who is charles? Also Greg only worked on SPD. Doug Sloan was the one who helped bring Tommy back for DT.

"Near future" does make everything shakey. But you could easily say that only a certain area of Earth retreated into domes. And that only a small area of Earth adopted alien visitors to live among them, etc etc.

However, maybe as fans we should just let go of continuity and allow PR to just be creative each season like Sentai has the freedom to. We can still have team ups and fun episodes with older rangers.

It just wont always make sense in a linear-continuous world. I like that the writing team is trying something unique like with SPD, again.

Maybe it takes place in 2010 and in this world 2010 technology is the same as 2030 technology.



Or, maybe it takes place during the same time as SPD on another planet similar to earth that like, has nothing to do with earth. Like in the show they'll make small references to the ''forces on earth''
