Hello--
I am sorry, I do not mean to appear to be ducking several of the questions that have come up on this thread repeatedly--I'm just trying to figure out the best way to answer them.
1) I don't mean to disappoint everyone but I would prefer to not answer this question, partly because I think there is a decent chance that Chip may want to address this issue (or choose to not address it) during his half of the season and I do not want to say anything that might contradict something he is planning.
2) I was kind of thinking that everyone should just wait and find out the answer to this when the show airs--but now my wife informs me that Dan Ewing has already blown the answer to this on his Q&A thread, so no, the zords do not talk.
This was one of the first decisions I made when I came onto the show. I thought the talking zords played into the softer, kiddie side of the show Disney had asked me to steer away from, but mostly, I just felt that the show was running the risk of being overpopulated with characters and I wanted to have time to focus and develop each of the human characters.
It made for some tough going when it came to cutting around the existing footage--and then there are the eyes...the dammed eyes...
