Power Rangers Mystic Force - "Light Source" (parts I/II) Talk up!

Just finished watching the episode(s). The first part that focused on the actual rangers was like the rest of the season and was very subpar. But the Trio of LeeLee, Clare, and Phineas saving Udonna was actually great. (I beat no one expected the Phineas beatdown!). Plus Toby still not believing the Rangers when they admitted to being rangers and giving them the advice to beat the "Terror of the Day" was surprising Decent, giving my expections of this season. All and All I give it a six, for a pulling off a decent plot with the side characters.

About time. Both of them were fantastic. Nice to see White Ranger again. :buttrock: I love Leelee in my heart. Phineas, daym!!!

Toby? Blah. He's annoying.

Next episode "The Return".... RED KORAGG and THE MASTER!

Part 1: 7/10 cuz of idiot Toby
Part 2: 9/10, again... idiot Toby

And that would be totally 8 out of 10.

Finally, we get some good episodes again. The first episode wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best. Certainly better than the last few. The second part was awesome though, moreso because a lot of the character interactions were original. The scene with Nick and Xander was great. Phineas beating the crap out of those grunts was nice, good to see him able to hold his own, same for LeeLee. I was really expecting her to double cross them after they freeed Udonna, glad they did something different and not nearly as obvious.

Toby finding out the rangers was pretty neat too, usually it doesn't happen until the very last episode that someone finds out, if ever. So together, they get an 8.

Down to 3 episodes now, right?

Yup. Three episodes left.

"The Return" will be airing on November 3. Finale Part 1 on November 6 and part 2 on November 13. And then, Mystic Force is done!

I'm not sure what to vote just yet. I thought part 1 was "ok" but Part 2 was really good. There was a lot that I loved about it.

I feel more like a 7 at the moment. But I dont think I will vote at the moment. The Leelee thing was nice and everything else. I'm looking forward to seeing how it all wraps up but with only three episodes left, I can kind of guess what's going to happen.

I'm sure they will squeeze Motoombo and Gekkor into the next episode. With what little we know (From the Green Rangers Q&A) it looks like Motoombo and Vida will have a thing together like in Magiranger. Gekkor mentions Motoombo as a softy. So he'll probably turn good and then explode into the rebirth of the Master. Why do I think he will still die to become the Master? Because the Q&A pretty much confirmed he did explode. (Numerous times it seems and the actors thought it was funny.)

Unless I'm remembering incorrectly. Leanbow is probably going to return in the same episode and finish off Gekkor. then the last two episodes are the battle with the Master.

I wonder if we will get any original Megazord footage this year. That would be great but I doubt it.

Nothing seems to excite me about the approaching end of the series. I suppose should be more excited. There's a decent plot and there's an obvious climax approaching. But seeing Magiranger took away from the show's thunder.

I just wish there was a little more "climax" or something. Sure the Master is coming but it just doesn't have the same kind of feeling...

It would be nice if there was more to look forward to. But, I guess the episodes were fine. So the production is doing their job. That's all that matters. I hope the finale exceeds my expectations.

=-=-=-=-=

Side Note, is it just me or is the Battlizer action not that great? I love the way it looks and the weapons are neat but I just don't feel the "power" behind the battlizer. When Shane landed on the ground, he landed with such force leaves got pushed up into the air. Mere punches sent generals flying back. I just don't feel any power from this battlizer. Maybe it's supposed to be subtle.

Light Source: Tinkersamless...

Toby's love for workouts and fruit. Subliminal message?

They changed the dice thing to a timed wire-fu fest vs Hidiacs/Styxoids. Yet they kept Nick, V, Chip and Xandah turned into dices.

Lightning Staff Crossbow mode, eh?

The editing in the episode were really bad. I could see a hell loads of Miyuki-cage shots before they switch it to Udonna.

Apparently, Leelee and Toby hit it off nicely.

Part II was semi-original. The "truth" is revealed to Toby, who doesn't buy it first.

Nick admits that he was going to skip town...hehe.

Phineas goes Kamen Rider on those Styxoids.

Udonna comes out morphed, so I was right. No new morphed sequence for her.

Leelee is one of them finally. But they changed Leanboragg's cliff fate to a cliffhanger.

So Itassis was there on the rocks for what purpose here? Stage 44 had her purpose cut out for her...

Overall, it was...eh. 6/10

As for "The Return": Think Stage 45/46 and that's it.

BTW- What's the finale titles called? Or do we wait?

Good:
-Udonna has her snowstaff back, Next episode Red Koragg(then again, it has to be).

-I find it odd that a civilian such as Toby can walk in during a ranger's morph, They done in TF and in DT once. But I don't really find that a bad thing.

-The moment with Xander and Nick, was really the best part of the episode.

-The whole cake thing with the monster was funny.

-Phenous kicked ass, He should have became Solaris!...ok, mabey not

-Part 2 was better, Part 1 was rushed, But like Hard Heads, the villian part was better.

Bad:
-this must be the 2nd time the rangers got turned into an object, and lost there powers.

-Part 1 was just fighting, but atleast the 2nd round was a bit intresting.

-Phenous+LeeLee?! Ok, thats just.....wrong

Nitpicking:
-Did lasers come out of Chip's boot in Round 1?

-The Battleizer formation really must have been fast beating foot solders in less than 15 minutes.

Part 1 raiting: 6
Part 2 raiting: 8
In all: 7

there wasn't a whole lot I liked about part 1. the better half was part 2 for me. I enjoyed the Korranbow/Terrors battle... but its ending sucked. He could've at least been spat out to the real world severly wounded and clinging to his life. I mean.. he only just got his ass kicked by Motoombo and literally backstabbed by Sculpin. I liked seeing the White Ranger's one moment of glory this entire season as well, and I'm gonna enjoy seeing how Toby looks at the rangers from now on. And Xander finally dropping the smooth operator act was refreshing. But the best part was Phinneas: Ass Kicker. I knew he was acrobatic for a reason:buttrock: ...yet a PhinneLeeleee relationship seems slightly vomit-inducing to me. In total, I'll give part one a 6, and part 2 an 8, so that gives Light Source a 7 for me.

And my question now is... how will they bring Nick and Maddie's relationship into play with just 3 shows left?

Heh, I'm not hopeful on that part actually, no matter how much I'd like something out of it. Even if it does happen (hopefully), it'll probably at the end after the last battle during the "...and everybody lives happily ever after part".
