I do think they're stretching a bit for the MMPR homages, but at the same time I found myself at least chuckling a bit at most of the references so its kind of working.

Begrudingly enjoying myself.

Well, it finally happened. I enjoyed myself watching Power Rangers. Despite the obvious mistakes with the cards, this was a good 1st episode. Nit the best but good. I gotta confess, the whole "teenagers with attitude" shtick I always found dumb as hell. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy MMPR as much as the next old guys still watching kid shows but the idea that the only way to fight off a super-powered evil force is to recruit kids and send them into life-threatening situations never sat well with me.

But that came and went, so no point in dwelling on it. I'm indifferent to the whole "pay homage" thing as well, but it is cool to see the ranger keys there and what it suggests for the future. Also, I like the character diversity here, and Troy's answer about "humans overcoming everything as long as we work together" may have been cheesy, but makes his character all the more likeable to me.

The opening theme may be another remake, but it's a good one, I like it better than Samurai's. The acting isn't top-knotch, but it's an improvement. Also, it looks like they're trying to set up deeper plot points for later on, which I am totally ok with. As long as there aren't too many filler eps, I think this'll be a good season.

Finally saw episode 1, and you know what?! It was magnificent. The acting was a far more improvement than Samurai's acting. Not bad on the first episode.

i really liked the first episode...the acting is a huge improvement from samurai.

love the episode the only cons i dislike are

the theme song only the samurai bits the rest is good
still not a fan calling their name in the intro
should not named the guy Ernie in respect to Richard Genelle
i'm find with them using gosei cards but they should of try to work around the japan text

other then that great episode

when i heard the theme song, the beginning part sounds so reminiscent of theme songs after In Space..until it went into samurai style theme...

I have watched Mega Mission about four times, now. I haven't had the desire to re-watch an episode of Power Rangers since Jungle Fury.

I've missed this feeling.
