Power Rangers MegaForce 2013 - (Info in the First Post)

I'm not sure Saban would want to cast the black guy as the Black Ranger. They claim the black Black/Asian Yellow implications didn't occur to them when they were casting MMPR, but they know now that it was controversial, and I don't think they'd want to repeat it. They cast a white Yellow, so they can't be going for the same setup as MMPR

(this will be the fifth year in a row the Yellow has been a blonde gal ... oh dear)

But at the same time, if a black male acts well and fits the part then **** it. Hire him. That's like saying they can never cast a black male a black ranger anymore.

It didn't seem noticeable to me back in S1 and S2 of MMPR when they swap ethnic characters for which ever Ranger to play. I mean I was young and I didn't know much back then. But now, I think the whole Black playing the Black Ranger and Asian playing Yellow is starting to get out of hand. Not that I have anything against the Black part (seeing as though I am a Black man) but my suggestion is that they should stay focus on hiring which ever actor who share a chemistry with his cast mates despite the "color barriers". That my thoughts really.

Now, for the whole production of making Gosei into 1 season and Gokai a 2nd season.....that's just plain old fuckin' stupid. I just hope that it's just another hoax then an actual fact.

I agree. I'm just thinking in terms of this season because of the obvious parallel to MMPR. It shouldn't matter what someone looks like as long as they can act (idealistic, I know ...)

Why is series 1 as Goseiger and series 2 as Gokaiger a bad idea? One suggestion I saw around the internet would be to have the Gokaiger counterparts show up for series 2 as antagonists, and basically take Basco's role. Have to say I would love that, it'd play on the pirate angle well

An ideal everyone should have especially in Hollywood.

Well, yea if Saban's writing team gets the brain juices flowing it could be hot, but if it's a simple power transfer or upgrade, then that would be dumb.

And that's...that's alright...

That's kinda what they are saying dude...
Sundai Love tweeted she was out of runing. They told her she was great, but they couldn't cast her, because they already had one african american and didn't want 2.
That's so messed up. lol Personally I'd be more offended that there was a better African American.

Wasn't there a deal about Zack actually being the Blue Ranger and Trini's actress actually being a white chick before it all started?

Anyway, the color of your skin has nothing to do with the color of your suit, and for sure, nothing to do with your character (both senses here)

That's soo ignorant though...Even though it was Disney, Will was our latest black, Black Ranger; and his role didn't start even the slightest beef with audiences. At least not that I know of.

We've only had two anyways, as long as it's a mix it should be socially acceptable.

I don't if anyone noticed, but they have this thing about casting Asians as Blue Rangers. That can be just as lame as casting them as Yellow Rangers. Anymore then they fall into typecasting..if they haven't fell in there already.

Supposedly Zack's actor was lined up to play Blue but then asked to switch - I don't know if there's a source for that. Trini's original actress was (IIRC) Filipina, but looked more like she could be Latina.

You must be talking about the girl in the pilot.
