Power Morphicon 2012 Pie Damage Fundraiser

It's a bit more polite but, the general vibe is the same on Facebook too. >>

The comment on the bottom link rang out as "because a few fans did it, I should have to pitch for the mistakes of these idiots."

No. If they screw up on their terms, be real heroes and clean up your own mess for the good of the community. Passing it onto us only shows they have no common sense or morals.

And yes, I am in a firm belief that Paul Schrier and Jason Narvy should not have to front the cost for the mistakes and lack of consideration on the PMC staff's part.

the guys at RB are trashing anyone that speaks out against this.

*sigh

I am starting to believe the stuff that people say about RB members

Like I said before and over there.

If it was for charity, fine. I would help. But this is just "We goofed. Pay for our mistake"

RB members are the worst. That is why I left that horrible forum and been on here gladly for years , the site stopped existing in my opinion.

I would not mind if it was for charity either , but the more ordeal is entirely on the part of those running the convention whom approved and had zero control over the events.

I read the RB thread, and was actually a bit afraid to post my opinion rant, because I was afraid I'd get jumped on, given the "positive" response on RB, and was surprised (and a bit impressed) to see the "negative" response here. Personally, I feel the response here ("It's their problem, they need to fix it", vs "OMG, these are our heroes, we have to help them!!11!") is much more mature, as well.

Now, as I said before, the auctions I have no problem with. "Hey, messed up, need money to fix it, wanna buy cool stuff you couldn't otherwise get?" isn't that bad, and rather respectable. How many threads in the Commerce forum have been because someone is broke and needs money, so they're selling off some stuff? But asking for donations is out of line.

Now, I'm on the fence about Narvy and Schrier's responsibility here. I've heard conflicting reports, one that it was a "pie throwing panel", and others that it was spur-of-the-moment and that PMC staff didn't know it was going to happen. If it's the latter, PMC staff should have stopped them, but that they share equally in the responsibility. If it's the former, then it's almost completely on PMC's staff, since they shouldn't have allowed it in the first place, but the actors should have also realized that it at least could make a mess, and requested plastic or something at least for the floors. As they were the ones directly involved in the actions that caused the damage, I can't excuse them completely, but PMC is definitely at least half responsible, if not more.

According to someone who sat next to the head of PMC and who witnessed and angry chain of silent cursing as it was happening from him, I don't think it was planned at all.

Then I'd say there's equal blame on PMC's staff and the actors. The actors for doing it, and PMC for having no control and not stopping it.

I don't agree with blaming Jason Narvy and Paul Schrier, they are just trying to entertain their fans and probably weren't aware of the damage. I blame the PMC staff for not stepping up and taking control
