Power Morphicon 2 Date and Location Announced

More like 4000 it seems...

and any flight from Montreal would take somewhere between 7 hours and 10 hours... I'm not sitting in an airplane's economy class for 10 hours unless there's a naked Dancer at the end of the flight :p which I'm pretty sure is impossible... it was hard enough to endure the train trip to Toronto and I had a break in Montreal... AND trains are more spacious AND I was in Buisness Class from Montreal to Toronto!

so unless I win the jackpot at the lottery or get a significant salary increase... at best I can consider being there for a different con somewhere in the midwest.

:( LA is just too far and too expensive for little old me. :bawling:

So, yeah, not unless you hire a hooker. :loltongue:

Too bad the bus system around here really sucks, or I could tell you to get a cheaper hotel farther away and ride to the Convention Center... I just hope they don't jack up the parking for the thing. I can ask my boss if they do that, since he used to run their parking lots.

If you're really looking for location, the best one is the Pasadena Hilton, hands down. It's less than a block away. If you're willing to walk a bit farther, there are other options, though.

Also, most hotels will give discounts if a group rents a bunch of rooms, so you could also wait a bit and get enough people to sign on for it that you could all get a cheaper rate. *shrug*

Still why not Rangercon, or Powercon...Power Morphicon just seems...silly...

The PR convention was going to be named "Morphicon" since it first got bandied about in-fandom in 1997. The furries beat Rangerdom to the punch, though the management of (Anthro) Morphicon were very forthright to Maureen when contacted that they had themselves appropriated the name from PR fandom. They offered her their blessing to use PMC.

The qualifier is because we can't use any words which are the intellectual property of Disney or Toei. "Rangercon" could legally imply things about the convention's relationship to the franchise which are legally uncomfortable. "Powercon" is far too generic and if I was willing to google I suspect has already been used somewhere. Nobody is going to mistake Power Morphicon for anything but the Power Rangers convention.

If he can't afford to go to the convention, how's he gonna afford that? He's lookin' for donations....

You forget, part of the agreement was naming rights to a Power Ranger series: Power Rangers Jungle Furry.

O_o It's not like the name is Mighty Morphicon or something. The title isn't that obviously connected to power rangers. People apparently confuse it with another furry con.

Finally! I've been waiting for dates for months! Heh, it's totally in my city, too. I seriously live about 3 miles from the place.

Serious geeks will recognize it if they've seen "Trekkies" recently. I swear over half that movie was filmed at the Pasadena Convention Center...

You lucky girl, you.

Right in your own yard

As for me....If I save up enough money, I'll drive the 210 all the way there just to see you...and meet the Rangers in the flesh XD
