I think the fact that we are on a forum that encourages (and exists for!) discussions about guys in spandex suits beating on others in rubber ones that makes us forget that we're fans of shows about guys in spandex suits beating on guys in rubber suits. I don't care if they DO dress up like Highly Visible Ninja, that doesn't make anyone "better" than them.

Exactly. And some one said at least we don't dress up like them. Yeah some of us do. At cons etc. Some of us wear the henshin devices and stuff when we are having fun. There is a thread dedicated to showing off people in our fandom posing with these toys.

Dude, I have probably more experience dealing with them than any of you. Not only do I have to deal with the usual amount of Naruto fanboys/girls, and then in addition, my girlfriend's (that I've been with for over a year mind you) 13 year-old Naruto-obsessed sister who sits in front of her computer all day long playing the same generic Anime OPs, draws nothing but Naruto, professes to know a lot about Anime and yet has never heard of Rurouni Kenshin. And in addition walks around the house with headbands on and gets made fun of at school and still wonders why. :sly:

I rest my case. There is no sterotype here! I see her do it, she is one of many, and it is common. I grow tired!

What this man said is mean, and incensitive. But this is the worst state Anime has ever been in. All of us Anime fans from back in the day started to get excited in the early 2000s when Anime started making a real dent in the market, to the point of where Nickelodeon even made the Anime knock-off Kappa Mikey. But now looking at it, it was so much better before the Naruto over-saturation of memorobilia and DVDs at every fucking FYE, Hot Topic, and Suncoast!

^Well I think there for those of us who got into it before or in my case waaaaaay before it sometimes feels a little like it became really popular and the access got so much easier just in time for anime art styles to change drastically and for the material itself to drift away from a lot of what we liked about it in the first place.

So to some degree it's like "Yay finally I can get anime very easily...yet there's nothing to watch unless I have a moe fetish and no standards. ****!"

That's not to say there's never any anime to like anymore but I would have killed for the level and ease of access back in the day that we have now.

You are the one with the problem here. Instead of just forgetting about the stuff you don't like, you get all hot and bothered about the stuff you ranted about here. So there is a lot of naruto stuff sold... So what? Don't buy it. What I find really funny is how you are some how blaming Naruto for being popular... Just because Naruto is popular, does not take away from how good or bad other animes are.
