Considering how there's no anime and how they aren't pushing Digimon anymore [this is why there needs to be an American series done by Nick.] , I don't mind it. And how the fanbase has been pushing for these megatypes, I was not surprised they'd come about.

Now where are those DNA Digivolutions at?

They're temporary evolutions activated only in combat by a new item. So, at the very least, it sounds like you're sacrificing the item slot to get these Mega evolutions.
