Persona 5 Announced

The storytelling was incredibly dull alternating between daily life **** and dungeon crawling, the dialogue was poor, the characters were just like something you'd find in any anime. The battle system was too stiff, slow and repetitive.

Did you miss the point of the entire game? The daily life "****" was the point of the game. It directly interacted with the over all story. I mean it's your opinion, but why did you even play it when you knew that's what it was. They even tell you on the box and other sources that's what the game play and story is all about.

I will just have to disagree with you about the dialogue being poor. Persona 3 had some of the best writing I had seen in any rpg in a while when it came out.

You could say that about any JRPG. It's not about finding them in other places, it's how they went about it.

So what you are saying is that you don't like turn based RPGS? I mean that's what it was. So if you describe the battle system of P3 that way, I am assuming you feel the same about all the original NES rpgs, most snes rpgs, the dragon quest games, and FF games prior to using the Active system, not to mention all phantasy star games, lufia, lunar, and many MANY more. And one last thing. I can understand if you don't like turn based rpgs, but slow? The battle system in P3 can be called a lot of things, but slow isn't one of them.

P3 was pretty anime-like in its writing, arguably to a fault. P4 reinstates a lot of the maturity and general weirdness I expect from the SMT series, though.

And if P3 was an anime, it'd be a damned good one!

There was a lot of anime like writing in 4 as well, but I don't see that as a problem. If the writing is good, what does it matter?

P4 used archetypal characters but the murder mystery plot was not too much like anime murder mysteries I've seen. The True Ending is just pure MegaTen, I don't think an anime would bother to pause and ask, "Wait, so who set all this in motion?"

That's not an excuse for being so boring.

Obviously you're not a particularly good judge of that...

Turn based RPGs can be fine, but after over 10 years of this style there should be some improvement and pace.

There is no good or bad here. This is all opinion. I am not quite sure you get that. Neither of us is wrong. You hated it, I loved it. That compute?

Bad is bad, good is good. Whether you like something or not you should be able to admit where it's flawed or outright bad.
