Overrated / Underrated Power Rangers series

Hmm, if a show is considered overrated by some and underrated by others, doesn't that make it well rated in the end? Well, here it goes.

Ahh, I was not refering to any specific series when I made that question really. I was just saying in the hypothetical sense. I hear many have completely opposite views on whether something is underrated or overrated like with Time Force (I think it's just good where it is) so it begged the question. Plus I dunno how good any vote consensis can be because usually the people who vote are those who are the most passionate either way (and often do it as a reaction to an unfavorable looking outcome which they are surprised about). The people who think a season is just plain "'ok" are less likely to vote. People registered on the forum and people who just read it and choose not to post are ofcourse not being counted either. Plus whether people have seen or not seen the original sentai source material can affect their judgement. Because not everyone has seen sentai or not seen sentai, the accuracy is always in question. And ofcourse depending on what board you go to, you have some differences in the way people lean via different arguments that have either won people over or driven them away and how sentai balanced they are with sentai or pr lovers. Ahh well, did not want to make this complicated, but statistics always have the ability to be misleading. I was personally talking from my experience chatting with others, not the polls.

Time Force is definitely not underrated. That is all.

Dude, Time Force is one of the best season ever. Fantastic and sure, it has it's flaws. >_>

Exactly dude. Underrated means it's great, but no one likes it. Everyone likes Time Force.

Ok, guys, I need to make something clear again. Just because you like something doesn't make it underrated, no matter how much you want to tell us you like it again. Just because you hate something doesn't make it overrated for the same reasons. Ninja Storm is not overrated. Time Force is definitely not underrated. That is all.

I stand by my first post in this thread. Aside from WF and LR, there ARE no shows that are underrated. And there are NO overrated shows. Some people diss the original like there's no tomorrow. Some people diss TF because its a rip of Timeranger. (I maintain people talk bad about both just to look cool.) Those are the primary seasons that most PR fans worship, so yeah....just forget it.

most overrated: Mighty Morphin. I never really cared for the cheesiness as a kid, but kinda appreciate it now. Tommy is awesome, but I loved him more as the Red Zeo ranger. I can understand the nostalgia value, but the action, especially from the first season are not well edited, the characters are one-dimensional (yet still somewhat enjoyable), and there are a lot of corny liners. The writing improves over the seasons, but there are stronger seasons. I'm not saying I don't like MMPR, just don't love. The series overshadows a lot of great Power Rangers series, to the point that MMPR becomes all of Power Rangers.

most underrated: Lightspeed Rescue and Turbo. Lighspeed is the nostalgia series for me, and there are factors of why PRLR is great. A badass red ranger, decent acting, great pacing, and though people love Ron Wasserman's rock soundtrack, the music in LR fits the heroic image the power rangers have. the villains aren't bad, the titanium ranger is cool, and the American footage is well done. Turbo, at least the second half, is great. I love TJ as the red ranger, I love a kid taking the role of the hero and not just some bystander/victim (inspiration for kids), love the flashy suits, the zords, and the climatic finale as the power chamber is destroyed and the rangers go on a suspenseful trip to space with an epic cliffhanger. I admit that divatox is annoying, but I enjoy the mix of cheesiness and serious plotline. The only reason why Carranger, the Japanese source of the show saved Sentai was the previous show, Ohranger, lost viewers as the dark villains/plotline scaries people as there were recent terrorist attacks in a Japanese subway.

Wow!! I originally made this thread back in 2006. Hard to believe it's been so long ago... *SIGH* I hate time. Make it stop!!

But yeah, looking back now, I'd say the most underrated would be Power Rangers in Space. This show was an awesome continuation from Power Rangers Turbo, had an awesome story and an awesome finale too.

Overrated, although I like MMPR Season 1 I'd definately have to agree that season 1 is a bit on the overrated side, because everybody's judging it by nostalgia, and while nostalgia is great it doesn't necessarily make it the best show out of all seasons.

RPM is underrated simply because they did what no one thought they could do which is take a comedically-based series (which got better as it went along) and create a legitimately serious & legitimately good series.
Overrated... I don't know if anything ill say MMPR but that's just my opinion....
