OMFG!!! Power Rangers is JAPANESE?!?!

[KRBlack]

Meh, I had watched zyuranger and other toku prior to PR, so when i saw the commercial for PR i was like :eyebrow: "is this for real?"

[toranoko]

I found out with the internet sometime in 2000 I believe. Around then any ways. Don't remember exactly how, because I don't think I really watched Power Rangers much at the time. I stumbled upon the knowledge somehow though, glad I did too.

[DeathWished]

I was raised in Hong Kong until the age of 12, so I basically know Sentai was Japanese when I start watching TV. Not to mention Kamen Rider and Ultraman and all the other tokus

[MegaRyu124x]

I slightly heard about it when Power Rangers did that Lost Episode special.

2002 I went on the internetz and joined RangerBoard (going by PRC at the time). Someone linked me to the Super Sentai Time Capsule.

Just this year, thanks to the glory of YouTube and VEOH, I've now been watching. My first Toku programs were Ryukendo (which I still need to finish), DekaRanger, and Kamen Rider Ryuki.

Currently, I'm now on Kamen Rider Den-O, KR Kabuto, Boukenger, and GekiRanger.

Oh, yeah, my pal Mikey Joe hooked me up with the first eight episodes of Deka in 2005. That got me started too

[Rider Strike]

DISNEY HAS BUTTRAPED SENTAI AND PR SINCE THE END OF SPD AND MAGIRANGER.

[Rider Hero]

wow! u guys are damn smart man... haha, i really didnt figure out PR was dubbed or taken frm jap sources... haha, not until ninja storm.. ( i watched it all the way)

I remembered seeing this line at the ending credits, giving credit to the sentai version, "taken from ninpu sentai"

haha, tts when i realised it was jap... quite dumb of me when i was young not to notice all that u guys observed haha...

so after tt i bought the entire set of abaranger thinking it was dino thunder coz i got it from china, n was hooked!!!! abaranger was really so much better than its US counterpart (duh)

[Bolt]

I found out just now.

[Alf17]

I found out just now.

LOL, you just won the Internets!

As for me, I knew super sentai loooong before the Power Farm Boys came along, starting with Choudenshi Bioman which aired dubbed on French TV.

[richardthebrave]

i wasnt surprised they (power rangers) reshot most of the dialogue and combat scenes using western actors. already knew sentai before even power rangers came out due to exposure to jap stuff early (changeman, dynaman, bioman, maskman, masked rider black, and shaider). i basically recognized the story and action patterns.

[Ranger64]

Yeah. Power Rangers originaly from Japanese, But I love it. Especially, Magiranger.
