And the reason for that is because they're trying to follow the style of what's most popular right now in the ratings (eg. Disney's Hannah Montana and Zack and Cody), so they're trying to copycat them by making shows like iCarly. They've even had her sing her own theme and album so as to make her into another version of Hannah Montana.

Speaking of iCarly (since I love that show since end of last year), I think that was Nick's version of Lizzie McGuire... WITH A WEBSHOW. I mean, the leading man there (Freddie) is their version of Gordo, complete w/ the whole "I love her (lead character)" thing in them, both started out in Middle school, both leads loved their leading man back, and more.

iCarly=Lizzie. nuff said.

Sorry, but you're really overthinking this. Kids growing up now, don't even know what Lizzie Maguire is so that wouldn't really do much for their market. You can even look at their released dates. Hannah Montana premiered on March 24, 2006. iCarly premiered on September 8, 2007, a little over a year later in the SAME TIME FRAME. Not a coincidence, and nothing to do with Lizzie Maguire, which by the way is about 6 years old now.

Hm... that can be confusing but I'll put again the same things iCarly and Lizzie have in common:

1) 3-man friendship: Lead Girl, Lead Boy and Lead Girl's a bit tomboyish friend
(in both cases it's Sam Puckett=Miranda Sanchez)
2) Leading boy loves Leading Girl fully, Leading Girl only sees Leading Boy as friends but later on relationship upgrades to a couple (did the Lead boy in Hannah loved Miley and Miley loving him back? no. instead the Lead girl went to Jake and the Lead boy went to Lilly, something that never happened in both Lizzie and iCarly)
3) Both go through everyday tween problems, unlike Hannah who has to solve them in non-normal procedures
4) both leading boys are smart (Freddie being tech-smart and Gordo being a know-it-all)

the only thing that iCarly and Hannah had in common were:

1) both Lead Girls became popular overnight
2) Both had sometimes failing Older Brothers

The only reason why people who says that iCarly is a Hannah ripoff are those who haven't seen Lizzie yet. and BTW, Lizzie is now 9 yrs. old.

I hadn't watched Nick since they cancelled 'Taina'. THAT WAS MY SHOW! Talking about it only appealed to girls. Please. There were plenty guys watching it, espcially for Christina Vidal.
