Now watching Boukenger...

...and I have to say i'm enjoying it. It's certainly not the best show, The way the series starts was garbage. I just did not like how the characters are ALREADY rangers as soon as the first ep starts. Should've taken their time introducing the characters, particularly yellow and black, and the mechs. Very rushed. The mech designs are **** too with the possible exception of SS Voyager(?). I have to say I do like all the characters. Eiji is good, and his intro eps. were hot, but I think his appearence forced characters like Black and Blue too much into the background. The series also jumps a few notches with the appearences of Daisuke Tsuchiya (Blue Beet of Juuko B-Fighter) as Yellows Father, and Hiroshi Watari (of Sharivan & Speilvan) fame as Bouken Silvers pops :buttrock: . Oh yeah, Bouken-Silver is possibly the uglist fuckin' design ever. Another series I already like more than Dekaranger (I just don't understand all the hype - I hope Gekiranger's as good as y'all make it out too be).

Boukenger's story never particularly impressed me, but one thing the show DID have going for it was style. Any time Akashi snaps his fingers and says "attack!" I just think "Yes! Yes! This is how the leader should act!" Definitely much better than Ban. I also like the badass henshins performed on enemy weapons, like the time Masumi deflected the bullet with his accellular. That was pure badassery right there.

Dude... just drop Boukenger and go full speed onto Gekiranger.
You will look back and laugh at the treasure hunters and scold yourself for ever thinking you liked it

Yeah, that was a great scene. The episode where Dark Shadows opens an Adventure School was actually funny. Red sitting in a corner dressed like a herb was great. And the salary-man getting knocked with the red chalk was just plain funny. One of the things that hurts Boukenger is Too many villians, each one just a generic rip of some villian we've seen in a past sentai show. I haven't seen the whole thing. About just over 30 eps. but it's turned from bad to pretty enjoyable. I want to watch the next episode. In contrast, with Dekaranger it was a struggle to get to ep. 40. I stopped, watched Magiranger, and have no desire at all to go back. I tried to Magiranger vs. Deka and there was one scene where Ban and Kai are behind a rock hiding from gun-fire, Ban is yelling and crying looking super-homo with his new metrosexual haircut, Kai staring into his eyes about to cry. I was like, "No ****. I think these dudes are about to **** each other." Yeah, Dekaranger sucks ass and can actually **** up other series.

Forever Knight, I'd love to read your reasons for hating the show (sans spoilers if possible).

Boukenger is pretty good like Kabuto b/c they are both made in 2006 and I like Akared special.

AAHHHH!!! Dude, don't help me out! Kabuto was absolute fucking trash. Ugh, one Queer Kamen Rider after the next:nono: . Ishimori would probably shoot up Toei studios if he was alive to see how they've fucked up his creation. Just a horrible show IMO

Atleast Kabuto had a plot (yes it came in the few last episodes and it was confusing) Boukenger didnt had one. i agree that most people didnt like Boukenger. the only bad thing i thought aboat kabuto was their Cliff hanger. o yeah oukenger was intressting until silver came in. well at least in my opinion.

Hehe it wasn't too bad. It was fine until episode 32 (?) and then it seemed to go down hill from there (boo)

And I really enjoyed Boukenger, but merely for the fact it was my first full Sentai Series so I had nothing to compare. DEfinitely finish it though, it gets good towards the last ten episodes (or maybe 12 I can't quite remember).

But yeah GekiRanger is far better - the plot is richer, the designs are cooler, the characters are a bit blah in some ways but im not going to start a debate over that :P

What's wrong with queer Kamen Riders? :(

Anyway, I liked Boukenger, as my first sentai... Okay the overall plot wasn't great, but it had some amazing standalone episodes, and a few points of great interesting character development (Masumi, Natsuki, Sakura, Eiji), and they were an effective team... And I loved the whole "GATTAI SHIFT ON!" with all ten vehicles listed.
