There are quite a few titles where reading the manga first really enhances the experience, so you're in for a treat!
One strong recommendation is Attack on Titan. The manga dives deeper into the lore, character backgrounds, and world-building than the anime adaptation does. While the anime does a great job visually and has fantastic pacing, the manga’s artwork and detailed storytelling really add layers to the plot and its themes.
Another great one is Fullmetal Alchemist. Although the 2003 adaptation is enjoyable, it diverges quite a bit from the manga after a certain point. If you read the manga first, you'll have a fuller understanding of the characters' motivations and the intricacies of the story, especially in the latter half where it really ties everything together.
If you're interested in something more psychological, Death Note is worth reading. The manga's pacing and internal monologues give a much deeper insight into Light Yagami's thoughts and moral conflicts, which can be somewhat lost in the anime’s faster pace.
On the flip side, one title where the adaptation didn't quite capture the manga's essence is Tokyo Ghoul. The first season follows the manga closely, but the second season takes a different approach, and the overall narrative shifts. Reading the manga provides a much richer understanding of the characters and plot twists that feel rushed or altered in the anime.
