North Korea Shell's South Korean Island, World War Looms

Yeah, it is a serious business when another country attacks unprovoked, but this isnt the first time in almost 5 years. North Korea is still trying to flex it's muscles to the world. Things will clear up very soon. It always does.

Which would further strengthen the 2012 end-of-the-world nuts

Reports now say that Japan is "preparing for any eventuality" and is on high alert.

If War does erupt, the first place it will spill over into will be Japan.

The only way this will end up into a World War is if two other countries attack each other within a good 4-5 day period after this stunt from today from the 2 Korean countries.

Until then, this seems like an incident that will only get outside help via resources NOT additional soldiers from allied countries.

If their bickering wakes up Godzilla he'll end both sides of the conflict out of grumpiness.

On a more serious note though; I've had the telly tuned to BBC World News most of the day, since I've been very interested in this development. I'm also pleased that my prediction of "The North will claim the South fired first" turned out to be correct.

Things are definetly spiraling out of control over there, first with the sinking of that SK warship I can't remember the name of, and now this artillery exchange.

Yeah, so if you guys are watching the news, you know that the DPRK has conducted a Artillery Bombardment of the small ROK island of Yeonpyeong.

So far reports say 2 dead, 16 wounded.

It seems the South was conducting a naval exercise in the area when the North opened fire at the Island, which houses a ROK military base, with 100 shells. The South replied in kind, firing some 80 shells back.

This is bad. I heard a few days back that North Korea was contacting American scientists and now this. I think they're preparing for a real war this time. I hope North Korea's military is caught and held responsible for the sake of the Korean people. Decades of separation of family and friends is no way to live. Some of the older people will never get to see their childhood friends ever again. This isn't right.

It's bad for Japan. North Korea is looking to extend its range to them as well and the US is responsible for the country's non-military. It could break into war. Since North Korea has nuclear weapons, it could become nuclear war.

 Nothing new here. You're talking about two countries that have been on cease fire from over half a century now. It was always bound to happen. As for it leading up to a World War, I highly doubt that.

I hope this was sarcasm, but I can't really tell on the internet.

This is big news. I was eating when I saw this on "Good Day LA." I can't really believe they just shrugged off the whole thing. It's serious. They gave free turkeys 10x more coverage than this. It's an outrage.

So the two Korea's stand again on the brink of war. Some are likening this to the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, in that it could be the spark that sets off another World War.......

Well, all this combined with the fishing boat crash incident just makes me nervous as hell. I guess this might keep South Korea from exporting terrible musical acts to Japan for a while? :P
