Newer Sentai Turns Me Off

Older Sentai turns me off.
They just seem to be lifeless and Two-Dimensional compared to recent ones.

What series have you seen that makes you say this?

Not really, I just just like seeing A. Kurenai scratch his head at me. 8D

I also forgot to mention that the outrageous mecha combinations are also turning me off from both Power Rangers and Sentai

To me it's not visually pleasing and I just keep wondering how the hell the think can even walk

The first time I saw it in OO (before I learned about Sentai) I thought it was pretty neat, but then my enthusiasm downspiraled

I haven't been having much luck with sentai either. Basically since Timeranger, it's been a crapshoot. Gao was just okay, then sentai got better until it peaked at Deka. Then it fell off and aside from Gekiranger I haven't been able to enjoy anything in the last seven years. It's pretty maddening stuff considering how much and how long I've loved sentai.

Magi was overexperimental and had the most insufferable red ever, Bouken was an amazing storm of potential thrown out of the window Kabuto-style, Go-Onger went full retard, the Shinkenger team is both scary as hell and unreleatable to me as a foreigner, and Gosei... I'm sorry, Gosei wtf.

Sentai's starting to feel like Heisei Rider, except without the parts where it just all clicks and sitting through 20+ bland episodes suddenly becomes "worth it." Say what you will about PR, but I usually at least can turn to that when I want to see a story about non-confusing people saving the world.

The mecha's getting worse, too--though oddly enough, I liked what I saw of Gosei's mecha in the early episodes. (I actually like the Headder attachments.) I haven't seen whether or not the arsenal's gotten better or worse, though.

Well, alright then. This seems a problem easily solvable by watching old Super Sentai and at least keeping up with the new to see if something you might like will eventually pop up.

Yeah, I've been resorting to this. Gave Jetman a try recently. 4 episodes in and I'm loving the heck out of it.

What series have you seen that makes you say this?

Mostly Mid-late 90's.
Kaku, Oh, Mega, Ginga, GoGoV.
Jet, Zyu, Dai and Car where passable, but for differing reasons.

It just feels like that they where flat and predicable to me.
Not that current Sentai can't be the same, but they do throw you for a loop now and again (no way in hell would a Female Red fly in the 80's or 90's).

Maybe i need to re-watch some of those now, After getting to know the franchise better (and without HK subs this time).
