New Transformer Series: TRANSFORMERS PRIME

As soon as I saw cliffjumper drive down that dusty road with the rock voicing him, I was hooked on this show. I was sceptical at first as it had the kurtzman and orci working on it as the bay movies are really quite **** for story but then as the episode unfolded as we saw each new episode I saw the love that has gone into this show. A serious well written series with homages that are neatly sewed in.

And when they do go all out with fanboying it's done masterfully, episode 5 for example all those movie lines that were used, all just built upon the fact it's the end of a major arc and prime verses megatron on that space bridge....beautiful.

I also now am ready for unicron to be tied into the TF universe once more. After the unicron trilogy I was sick of him, but here Prime is making him seem much more like a legend then simple that giant dude who appears and fucks yo planet up.

As for the animation, people have been digging on it, but considering the budget it's beautiful, it'll never live up to clone wars million dollar budget but at this level it's certainly a high quality product that's been produced.

It's a mashup... You can say it's another universe... You might want to do some back reading first...

I haven't seen the show, but I know it is based off the War of Cybertron book, but I was confused if that was in G1 continuity. I guess I need to find that book...

At last a new episode... I just noticed that Optimus Prime actually has a beard...

Soundwave transforms to an airforce drone...

A new character is revealed - SkyQuake - turns into a Joint Strike fighter.
Megatron is still alive... - Dark Energon, though was put on life support/stasis as Startscream pulled it out from Megatron's chest.

I don't know about that. Its set in a dusty barren desert with featureless decors and the armor plates on the transformers look like they're floating in place! no weight at all.

I don't want it to live up to Clone Wars standard...but it could at least live up to Action Man or Roughnecks Chronicle standard for pity sake! This isn't the 90s. At least make the background more interesting than the ones on fracking B.U.M. -.-

Orci and Kurtzman didn't even write the second , just the first and maybe third. Blame Bay, Paramount's greed to release it unfinished and the Writer's strike that gutted the writing period for the film for why the second film sucked .

I am not sure how to feel about the Unicron Trilogy because it elt more like the last three seasons of Beast Wars than not because the guy who voiced Primal voiced Prime making it very confusing. Then again, it was supposed to be Transtech anyways ,so... I never liked the 1986 film , but the idea of Unicron is awesome since he is the Galactus of Transformers.

I still am pissed that they couldn't just bring over Animated to the Hub and just snatch the rights for the series since its co-created. It had so much wasted potential especially since it had another season waiting and CN were complete utter jackasses about it all. I hope Japan does another branch off with Animated as they did with G1 , but with the same team and possibly bring it here after Prime. Then again ,I wished they'd just brought the voices from Animated sans the human characters obviously as it would make it less painful.

If this does take off, I want the best for this series, maybe even some G1 Japan and Transtech thrown in. It's the perfect time to do so.

* Wheeljack appears in a ship and has twin katanas. Except it's a Decepticon - Makeshift... :O_O:
* The real one eventually makes it back to the Autobot base, leaves again in the end..
